About this novel

Maximilian's second chance at life comes with a twisted irony. Betrayed by false accusations and killed while protecting someone, he awakens in a world of superpowered heroes and villains locked in eternal conflict. Bitter from years of unappreciated sacrifices, Maximilian rejects heroism entirely and embraces a darker path with the aid of the Greatest Villain System—a legendary power designed to crown him as the world's most terrifying antagonist.

His villainy, however, becomes hilariously complicated. Tasked with beating innocent civilians, he inadvertently prevents a terrorist attack that a grateful retired hero celebrates. Ordered to demolish a hero monument, his actions accidentally ruin a villain's career instead. Instructed to assault a famous hero, he exposes a criminal conspiracy that earns him a detective's praise for heroic justice.

The system grows frustrated: "Maximilian, are you toying with me?"

Maximilian protests his innocence, yet the heroes worship him as their most virtuous savior. His declarations of villainy fall on deaf ears as multiple champions credit him with their greatest victories and revelations.

As Maximilian navigates this absurd reality and desperately tries to prove his malicious intentions, he stumbles upon sinister conspiracies woven through the government's highest ranks. These discoveries force him to question everything about the world he inhabits.

Can Maximilian finally establish himself as a true villain? Or is heroism his inescapable destiny, regardless of his choices?
