Chapter 592: I’m Not Interested In You
As they made their way through the large mansion, Dave’s steps became heavier. His vision blurred, and his head felt heavy. The sharp focus he usually had was gone, replaced by a fog he couldn’t shake. Reese stayed by his side, slipping her arm around his waist to help him walk as he stumbled.
When they reached one of the guest rooms, Dave sat down at the end of the bed, but his body gave out almost instantly. He fell back, drained and helpless.
"Mr. Evans, you’re clearly not feeling well," Reese mumbled. "You need to rest." She carefully adjusted his position, making sure he was lying comfortably on the bed.
Dave lay still on the bed while breathing softly and steadily.
Reese leaned a little closer. "Mr. Evans, are you asleep?" she asked while looking into his handsome face.
He didn’t answer. He didn’t move.
Standing over him, Reese’s face tightened. Her lips pressed together, and her hands curled into fists. She stood there for a moment, stuck between hesitation and dreadful thoughts.
"I’m sorry," she whispered.
Then, slowly, she took a deep breath, reached for the zipper of her dress, and began to undress.
The night gently fell over the city as the banquet ended.
One by one, the guests got into their shiny luxury cars. Their laughter slowly faded as they left the grand mansion.
After saying goodbye to the last guest, Blake walked to Brenda’s room. Inside, Bianca was fast asleep, breathing softly, lost in her dreams.
Ashley sat nearby, legs crossed, and pressed her half-smoked cigarette into an ashtray already full.
Her eyes were filled with bitterness.
"I'm running out of patience," she said in a low and sharp voice. "If you had shown up any later, I might’ve burned that cigarette right into Bianca’s pretty face."
Her words made Blake’s face darken for a moment, and he retorted sharply, “I understand you hate her, but you agreed to work with me. Acting on impulse will ruin everything."
Ashley looked at Bianca, her lips twisting into a bitter smile again. "I still don’t see what’s so special about her," she muttered. "Why can’t you let her go?"
She stood and placed a hand on Blake’s shoulder, her eyes gleaming with a teasing look. "Don’t worry, I promised, didn’t I? I won’t touch her unless you say so. We’re partners now, and I know how to wait. I helped you today, don’t forget to return the favor."
She traced her fingers along his shoulder, letting her touch linger, but Blake brushed her hand off with cold intent.
“We’re partners, nothing more,” he said, his voice cold and firm. “Don’t cross the line. I’m not interested in you.”
Ashley’s face darkened. What was it about Bianca that had both Dave and Blake wrapped around her finger? She saw herself as Bianca’s equal, yet neither man looked her way.
Jealousy simmered beneath the surface, but hatred ran deeper. The old Ashley was gone. Life had shaped her into someone patient, someone who knew how to wait, like a snake ready to strike when the time was right.
With a sweet but fake smile, Ashley looked at Blake. “The night’s still young,” she said teasingly. “Don’t be too gentle with her. Have some fun.”
“I don’t need your advice,” Blake said with a smirk. “Or are you planning to stay and watch us?”
Ashley gave a careless shrug as she walked to the door. “Not my kind of entertainment,” she said over her shoulder. “Just make sure your pawn is ready. I’ll be waiting for results.”
Then she left, the door clicking shut behind her.
Blake looked at Bianca. His eyes softened as he watched her sleep.
Seeing her face brought back a rush of emotions. The memories of their time together came rushing back, playing slowly in his mind like an old scene on repeat. He reached out and gently brushed her hair.
This was the moment he had waited for, the chance to take back what he had lost.
His chest tightened, the urge inside him growing stronger. Blake loosened his tie, as if that could calm the storm he felt.
No matter how much Bianca had hurt him, his heart still clung to her. He leaned down and gently kissed her forehead.
“Bianc,” he whispered, his voice filled with both longing and love. “You may not remember the day we first met, but I do. Every second is still clear in my mind.”
He placed a hand over his chest to suppress his emotions. “I don’t just want you, I want your heart. And I’ll win it the right way.”
His eyes stayed on her face, every feature bringing back the fire he thought he had buried.
He gently stroked her cheek and whispered, “It won’t be long, Bianc. You’ll fall for me, just like I fell for you.”
Blake didn’t know why he didn’t take it further. He had already let go of his morals and crossed lines he once swore he wouldn’t.
This wasn’t about honor anymore. It was about getting results, no matter the cost. Right and wrong didn’t matter to him now, and he no longer hesitated to use any means to reach his goal.
But with Bianca, a part of his old self still held on.
He pulled the blanket over her gently, his touch softer than usual. Then, after one last look, he slowly left the room, leaving her to sleep in peace.
The next morning, the entrance of the Lawson Hotel was packed. Cars kept pulling up, dropping off reporters with cameras and microphones in hand.
They came from everywhere, all chasing the same story.
But this wasn’t random. Blake and Ashley had planned it all. They wanted to ruin Dave’s name, break him and Bianca apart, and drag down both Emerald Artists Agency and Phoenix Entertainment.
It was a plan meant to hit all three targets at once.
“Come on, move fast! The best spots are almost taken! This is the biggest story today, so we need the perfect angle for the shot!”
"I can't believe this. If today’s news is real, it’s going to explode everywhere. I even asked my team to save space for this."
"Don’t shove!" someone snapped.
"Why are there so many people? Wasn’t this supposed to be private?"
"Private? Are you serious? There are no secrets in this industry. Look at this crowd, it must be true. Let’s go before we miss the best shots!"
Excited voices and loud shouts filled the air as more reporters pushed through the crowd.
