CHRIS'S POV
Zachary waited till she went out of the room. He looked around and then gestured me to sit. I did as he said because frankly I don't have enough strength to fight him more. I've already lost many people and I don't want history to repeat itself. I want nothing more than my September and Claire to remain safe.
"So..." Zachary tried to say something but nothing came out of his mouth.
I had an urge to laugh. The man who never thought twice before unloading his bullets to kill, was now running out of words?
" I want to tell you something, Chris." He continued.
I nodded.
"I know Chris, I have no right to ask for an apology but if possible, try to forgive me. I know that I did wrong with you...I-I tried to kill you, I kept you as a hostage but trust me, I have nothing else to say apart from begging you to forgive me. I was so wrong and....Chris, I am in love with September."
I stilled. My eyes automatically get snapped in his direction and for a second, I didn't believe my ears.
Love?
I didn't know how to react. What am I suppose to feel?
" I know it does sound pathetic after all I am the person behind all of her sufferings. I don't even deserve to love her but man, I couldn't help it. If possible, forgive me."
I looked at his face and to my surprise, he was genuine this time.
I would've definitely laughed if I heard this before but since the day September woke up in hospital, Zachary has changed. I witnessed how he took care of her and little Claire. He made them happy. After a very long, I saw September smiling once again. Be it her memory loss but she was happy and what else I can ask for?
No. I don't trust Zachary but I am sure that if he says he loves her then he must do. After all he is Zachary Wilson; a cold blooded criminal. Why would he say anything about love if isn't in love?
I hate to say but Zachary makes September happy. And I know that I am very wrong to wish that she will never have her memory back because if that happens, she will again become like a lifeless soul. And trust me that's the last thing I want.
I hate Zachary, I will hate him forever but I couldn't ignore the fact that he is the only person who can paint colors in September's life.
"I couldn't forgive you but if you look after her and Claire and always make them smile, then I promise my hate for you will overcome." I said.
He nodded.
"I will leave her whenever she gets her memory back. I will not suffocate her with my presence." He mouthed.
"I don't want her to get her memory back." I replied the second next to which he said nothing, just exhaled a breath.
I know I am wrong but let it be. Let her happy.
"And Chris, one more thing."
I gestured him to continue. Although deep down I knew that where this conversation is heading to but I acted as if I have no clue about whatever he has to say next.
"I met Grace when I was only eight years old. She was this little princess who was never loved and pampered. Her father was alcoholic and her mother was prostitute. They never loved her but she was okay with that. You know, her mother wanted to drag Grace into prostitution but somehow she managed to escape. You think that you know everybody, right? No, you don't. There are some stories which are always left unsaid. Grace never got love of her parents, it was only me, Blake and Riley who look after her. Just like a normal girl, she had dreams but then she was always surrounded by us. So eventually her dreams were lost somewhere but I assure you Chris that she is nothing like us. She is as pure as you are. She never killed anyone. I just want to say that don't blame her for the things which I've done. She did nothing wrong and I hope you already know that just because she's related to me that doesn't mean she has to suffer too."
"Chris, let me be honest with you. She likes you and I guess you are already aware of that. I am not forcing you to like her back but if you're holding yourself just because she's my sister then please don't do this." He said and after forcing a pale smile at me, he went out.
I sat there, unable to process anything.
Pressing my eyes shut, I remembered Grace.
She was the only person who offered soft expressions when I first came here. Her face always told me that she cared for me but I was too naïve to understand this before. I have never seen her as Grace instead she was always sister of that person whom I hated most.
But I never thought that she has gone through this much. I have lost my parents but she never got one. I have memories to remember but she will never want to remember anything about her family.
Maybe that's why they say that behind every person, there is a different person waiting to be uncovered.
I never accepted but deep down, I always felt attracted to her. I might have said that she is a waste of space but honestly, she is freaking hot. It always boasted my ego that she has a thing for me. I always felt her eyes on me. Many times, I've caught her staring at me but today, I feel this strong respect for her. She is a survivor and a beautiful soul.
And now I guess, it was time for her to get everything she deserves.
"Hey." I whispered softly.
She looked at me in surprise and through my periphery, I saw her pinching herself.
I licked my dried lips and scratched the back of my neck. Now what am I supposed to say? God! This is too difficult. I have hurt her many a times, should I apologize first? Or should I tell her that I like her? I wish I could talk to September about this. She was my best friend and always told me what to do and what not. Everything was much easy back then.
"I am sorry." I blurted out without thinking much.
Her face was priceless, she was actually behaving as if she was still in her dreams. The corner of my lips curled up and soon, I felt like confessing my feelings to her but instead of that, I simply held her hand and placed a kiss on the back of her palms.
"Please tell me that I am dreaming." She gasped.
"No. You're not." I replied.
"So?" She asked, now with a smile that was about to cross her lips.
"So, I was wondering that do you like coffee?" I raised my eyebrows.
She flushed into all shades of red and damn, she captured my heart once again.
"Are you asking me on a date?" She raised her eyebrows back at me.
I smiled and mouthed a big yes.
So she took my hand and said "I know a cafe where they serve complimentary cupcake, I hope you'll love that place."
And with that I followed her steps. Maybe, now I have a reason to smile often. My Grace.

Hey everyone,
Happy for another update? How was it? Chris and Grace they both sound cute together, aren't they?
Okay, so from today I've started posting my another story called

I will update it on regular basis, since I am super excited to write it. But don't worry I am not going to stop giving updates of “Married To Mr. Criminal”. I will do it frequently, I promise :)

"
P-Please..s-st-stop."
I shuttered in a horse voice which was cracking down a bit but still he didn't stopped.
He didn't stopped hurting himself.
Even after all the unhealed bruises and wounds present on his body, he still punched the wall in full rage and crushed the alcohol bottle in between his fists which only resulted into dripping of more and more blood from his palm.
" Y-you are hur-hurting yourself."
I whispered and that's when he tilted his head to meet my eyes.
With murderously scary look on his face he took a step closer to me till our nose started touching each other.
" Why Do You Fucking Care?"
He yelled and I shivered in fear whilst looking at my feat. His intimidating figure took a one more step near me.
" P-please?"
I added.
" Fine I'll not hurt myself."
He said calmy and released a hot breath near my neck.
" But.."
He added and placed a kiss on my jaw making me completely off guard.
" But for that you'll have to let me fuck you."
