Even though the text message broke her heart, Mia couldn't help but go over its content again. She tried not to feel bad about all that she read but she couldn't help it.
She had no right to be jealous of whatever Colton did or had with his exes but thinking about it was making her heart ache.
Mia had no idea if Natty was telling the truth about being the best person who could satisfy Colton in bed. That statement worried her the most because she feared that she might not be able to meet Colton's expectations in bed. And if that should happen, he might as well run back to his exes or find another woman.
Mia knew sex between partners constitutes an important part of a relationship. Sure, She and Colt have had amazing foreplays which makes them yearn for more but she was beginning to fear that he might not be impressed when she finally surrenders her body to him.
Mia sighed, running a hand over her hair. She wasn't worried about Natasha calling her a gold digger because she had a pure heart. She was just vexed that the bitch would never let her be.
She knew Natty's intention was to make her feel bad and no doubt that Natasha won because she was already feeling bad, doubting her self-worth again; If she's fit to be Colton Royal's woman.
The plan was to dig into her lunch when she ended the call with Hailey, her best friend, but heaven knew she had no appetite after reading the text.
Pushing her food aside, She got back to work, hoping it would take her mind off the shitty text message that Natty sent. But she was wrong. She couldn't stop thinking about all the things she read some minutes ago and it was making her go crazy.
It was true that Colton made her promise that she was going to report every threat from Natty if there was ever one again but she didn't want to go running to him at everything. Same with her best friend, Hailey.
Deciding it was best to put an end to all of this bullshit, Mia thought the best solution was to put Natasha in her place once more. As it was better than keeping quiet so she did just that.
She reached for her phone and dialed the number the text message came from.
"Look who's calling? You've got some balls, don't you?" Natasha mocked.
"Why are you this pathetic? What the hell was that you sent to me?"
"The pathetic one here is you, who by all chance wants to associate yourself with Colt. And the contents of the message were nothing but facts. You don't have all it takes to be Mrs. Royal. So just disappear and never come back."
"You're the one who should disappear off the face of the earth. Bitch, Colton Royal likes me, he's going to get married to me and we will live happily ever after with our children. If you cannot deal with It, then go shoot yourself." Mia said.
"So what if you're Colton's ex? Or do I need to remind you what an 'Ex' means? He's done with you, he's over you, he doesn't even think about you anymore and not to talk of how he gets disgusted by your presence or just by the mention of your name!"
"You SLUT! Who gave you the right to talk to me like that?!!" Natasha said at the top of her voice.
"You gave me the right to be nasty to you. You treat people with disrespect so people ought to treat you shitty. Gosh, you're nothing but a psycho, a jobless human, a motherfucking obsessed and jealous bitch who thinks she could have her way with anything!"
"Don't you dare talk to me like that, woman! You're pretty brave for somebody who's carrying another man's child, pretending it's Colton's child. Or do you think I don't know that you recently broke up with your ex?"
Mia did not allow what Natty said to affect her. "See, you just proved me right? If you aren't jobless, you wouldn't go digging for false information about me. If you aren't a jealous bitch, you would leave Colton and me the fuck alone. And if you were not foolishly obsessed, you wouldn't text me rubbish just to make yourself feel kind of superior."
"You know where I work, you got my number illegally, you know about my ex. Jeez, girl, you're a fan already! But guess what? Unfortunately, I don't need maniacs like you in my fanbase."
"You had your chance with Colt in the past and you screwed it up. Move on, Bitch, you're never going to have him back. He loves me and he's definitely going to spend the rest of his life with me."
"On that note, don't you dare stalk me, call me, or send me nasty messages again!" Mia ended the call, not giving Natasha the chance to reply or defend herself.
"That felt good!" She sighed, placing her phone on the table. "I hope she stays away for good this time around!"
Feeling proud of herself, She suddenly started missing Colton so she thought she should check up on him. She sent him a text.
"Hey"
She was surprised that he replied almost immediately. "Hi love"
"Missing me?"
She smiled. She was about to reply with 'kind of', not wanting to sound clingy but she changed her mind. She thought that there was nothing bad in admitting her feelings.
"Yes,🙈" she responded.
"Same here, babes 😘"
"Have you had lunch?" He asked her.
"Not yet."
"Why?"
"I can contact Simeon to deliver food to you!"
"Thanks but there's no need. I have my lunch with me. Lost track of time but I'll eat when I'm done texting you!"
"Good to know! I don't want you starving."
Mia smiled. "What about you? You've had lunch already?"
It took about a minute before Colton replied. "No. I'm in a meeting. Besides, I'm not used to having lunch so it's all good."
"Didn't know you were in a meeting. Sorry, I didn't mean to disturb you."
"It's fine, babe. I'm good at multitasking. Glad you texted, I was getting a bit bored with the long presentations."
"Let me leave you to focus. We'll talk later, right?"
"Of course, Babe! Enjoy the rest of your day and make sure you think of me"
Mia couldn't help but smile at his reply.
