From Gamma to Luna

Chapter 29

Ch. 29 / 98 Jan 10, 2026

Erika’s POV

I went through a hard time, feeling nauseated and dizzy. I was also sweating heavily.

Angel held me in her arms and comforted me, “It’s OK. Everything will be OK.”

I nodded.

After about an hour, I felt much better and asked through mind-link. Where are we now?

“Let me see. We are about to reach the borderline. Look, that’s the lake. We’ll go around the lake and then cross the border.” Angel said as she pointed at the border.

“We’ll be at the hospital soon.” The driver said.

I sat up and looked at the lake. It was the lake that ruined my first escape plan. It was a big lake. We had been driving along the bank for about ten minutes and finally, we were about to cross the border.

This time, the lake couldn’t stop me.

“Now we’re crossing the border,” Angel said as she pointed.

I closed my eyes and rubbed the diamond in front of my chest. It was time to say goodbye.

I bent over suddenly and frowned.

“What’s wrong?” Angel asked.

I want to vomit. I mind-linked.

The driver pressed the pedal and the car stopped. Angel opened the door and helped me out.

I crouched down and began to retch. I indeed felt sick because I was carsick. But nothing came out.

Angel patted me on my back and asked whether I felt any better.

I shook my head and mind-linked with her that I wanted to take a walk.

“OK.” Angel agreed immediately.

“The Luna wants to take a walk to ease the sickness. Can you wait here for a minute?” Angel turned around to ask the driver.

“OK. But we’ll arrive at the hospital soon. Please be quick,” The driver answered. I guessed that he wanted to send me to the hospital and went back as soon as possible so that he could still grasp something to eat at the party. Unfortunately, he had to wait for another year.

“It won’t take much time,” Angel said. Then we walked ahead.

We passed a tree and I crouched down, pretending that I felt sick again.

“Are you OK? Let’s come back to the car if you feel bad.” Angel also crouched down.

I nodded and tried to stand up. But I failed and collapsed on the ground again.

“Let me help you.” Angel leaned over and wrapped my arms around her neck. She put her arm across my legs and was about to carry me.

At this moment, I opened my eyes and hit her on her neck with my elbow.

She let out a moan and passed out.

I took off my gloves, clenched my hand, summoned a whip, and tied her to the trunk of the tree.

I’m sorry. I mind-linked her.

Then I turned around and sneaked to the back of the car. The driver was taking a look at his watch. I rushed to the door quietly, pulled it open, and hit him on his neck. He also passed out. I pulled the driver to the passenger’s seat and then drove the car to that tree. I was exhausted after all of this.

However, when I got out of the car and went to the tree, I was surprised to find that Angel stood under the tree, angry and confused. My whip was on the floor.

Why did she come around so quickly?

“I didn’t pass out at all.” She answered coldly. It was the first time she used such a cold tone.

I guessed a fight was unavoidable I clenched my fist and was about to summon a dagger.

“I won’t stop you. I just want to know what you are doing and why.” She noticed my movement.

I gave up summoning my weapon and lowered my head, feeling a little guilty for my original thought.

I need to leave this pack. I don’t belong here. I mind-linked her.

“Why?” She shouted.

I’ll never be a fighter if I stay here. I mind-linked as I shrugged.

She seemed confused by my answer. I knew it did sound like a lame reason.

“I just… Alpha Derek loves you so much. He is such a good guy. I thought you…” She shook her head, not knowing what to do. She seemed unable to understand it.

You may not know that he brought me here by violence. Before I met him, I was the Gamma of my former pack and I had everything I wanted. He brought me here and everything changed. I mind-linked her with a bitter smile.

“What?” she asked in disbelief.

Or what do you think? I loved him so much that I gave up being a Gamma.

She didn’t deny it.

I sneered. What a naïve girl. Sometimes I would get jealous of her.

“Where do you want to go?” she asked me.

Anywhere. I’m not sure.

“Do you really need to do that?” she asked worriedly.

Yes, you don’t know what being a fighter means to me. I smiled bitterly.

She stood there motionless for a while. After about a minute, she said in a serious tone, “You are my teacher. I won’t stop you from whatever you want to do as long as you don’t harm the pack. I’ll tell Alpha Derek that we’ve arrived at the hospital.”

I widened my eyes at her and immediately shook my head.

No, you can’t do it. I’ll knock you out and when he finds you, you can blame everything on me. But if you help me escape, you’ll receive a severe punishment.

After thinking for a second, she took out her phone, gave it to me, and told me the password.

I looked at her gratefully.

“Come on, knock me out.” She waved her hands at me.

I stiffened and didn’t even realize that there were tears on my face.

She snorted and charged toward me. I attacked her out of instinct. We began to fight just like we did when she was preparing for the fight.

After twenty minutes, I drove the car into the woods and hid it among bushes. I walked out of the car with an arm bleeding. Angel was lying on the backseat with bruises all over her body. The driver was also lying on the passenger’s seat. I knew that Angel was still conscious, so I just left.

I ripped a stripe off my dress and bandaged my arm. Suddenly, Angel’s phone rang. I just sent Alpha Derek a message that we had arrived at the hospital. He replied OK immediately.

I left her phone and the diamond necklace in the car, although I hated to do so. I needed a complete break from the past.

I took out the gloves that I hid in my bra and wore it on. It got many crinkles on it, but it didn’t matter. Erika the fighter was back!
