His Contract Wife

Chapter66: Because I like you

Ch. 66 / 86 Apr 21, 2026

Leila checked her wristwatch for the umpteenth time. Her nerves were frayed and she was losing her patience waiting in the car for someone she had no idea his whereabouts. Kelvin was still not here.

"How long have you been his driver?" she asked the man at the driver's seat.

The chauffeur took off his hat and hugged it to his chest. She frowned at the bald patch on the middle of his scalp and the grey hair surrounding it. He had to be older than her parents.

"Too long to remember, really."

"Hmm." She said nothing more. She didn't know how to make conversation with Kelvin's staff. It was as if they had been given strict instructions not to engage her. "When did he say he would be ready to leave?"

"In a few minutes, ma."

Leila blushed. "Leila. Please call me Leila."

"I can't do that, ma," he replied without looking back.

Pressing her lips together, she flashed him a smile through the rearview mirror. Her plan had been solid. Wait till close of work, wait for the others to leave and get into her husband's car right as he was leaving his office. It was her own way of making it up to him for getting him riled up earlier today. While he had good reasons and was also right, she wanted him to understand her. To know that she was never ashamed of him.

Only now, it felt like she had miscalculated. Ten minutes had passed and Kevin was still inside the building. She knew when he left the office because she gave strict instructions to his assistant to inform her.

She sent a text to Amara, something she should have done when he delayed for too long. No reply came.

Bored and tempted to leave, she sat up when she saw her husband walking towards the car. Kelvin was on a phone call. She opened the door before he could and he stopped for a brief second to stare at the door. The glass was tinted so he couldn't see her. She giggled.

Time's up. She smoothed her top, pressed the remote and the mesh rolled up to give them some privacy. Kelvin entered the car.

"I'll call you back. Later," he said into the phone as soon as he saw her. It was harder for Leila to keep a straight face but she managed to. "What are you doing here?"

Her fingers worked on the hem of her blouse. She was nervous. "You don't sound so happy to see me, Kev. Bad husband."

Kelvin blinked. "What? No. Of course I am." The distance between them was gone in a heartbeat. She trailed a circle on her knee. "I'm just surprised. You waited for me?" A nod. "How long have you been waiting?"

Tilting her head back, she shrugged. "Long enough." The numbers on her wristwatch could give an accurate figure. One hour and ten minutes was how long she had waited for her husband. She finished for the day, waited behind for him to finish. He was always home late. "Where were you, Kev?"

A contrite look sat on his face. "Inside. Something came up." Kelvin hit the back of the chair in front of him twice and the car started. Leila leaned into him, head resting on his shoulder and he blessed her with a kiss on her hair. She blushed to her roots. "We have a gala to attend this night. Trying to round up everything before tonight."

He continued talking but her mind stopped processing his statement on the first words. We. But he didn't mention a gala to her. She lifted her head and he stopped talking.

"We? As in, me and you?" He didn't mention that earlier, and she was in his office. The confusion in his eyes answered her question. "Oh. You're going with someone else?"

"Yeah. Amara." The knife in her gut twisted. She was well aware of the professional relationship between boss and assistant but it stung that he would automatically pick her over him. "You don't want people to know we are a couple so I have to go with her. We go together for these things anyway. Tonight will be like any other night."

"I guess so."

Locking his finger under her jaw, he tilted her head. Worry swam freely in his eyes. "Are you okay?" Her head bobbed slowly. She had to be okay. She chose this life of secrecy. "You don't sound so okay. Are you fine? I'll be back before you know it." Leila couldn't even bring herself to smile. She gave him the puppy eyed look. "Aw, you're going to miss your husband, is that it?"

It was more than that. Kelvin kissed her slowly. He parted her lips with his, immersed her senses with his taste until she was kissing him back feverishly and urgently. He broke the kiss first, dragged her up to his lap. She took his hands and placed them over her breasts.

"Hey, why are you crying?" Kelvin asked. His voice conveyed the worry in his question. She only realised she had been crying when he wiped her cheeks. "Talk to me, Leila. Did anything happen at work today?"

"No." She licked her lips. "I want to come with you." He paused. His rigidity made her believe he didn't hear her the first time. Another deep breath later and she said, "Don't go with Amara. Go with me, Kev."

Her words must have carried a lot of weight, he deflated. "Why?" Was that really a question? She was his wife. She should be his first option. Kelvin shook his head as if realising the stupidity of his question. "I mean, are you sure?" One big palm cupped her face, she looked up to him with eyes shining in anticipation. "I respect your decision to keep us a secret for now."

"We can go together tonight. Let me be your plus one." His soft lips pressed to hers and he nodded to show agreement. "Thank you, Kev."

Kelvin laughed. "Don't thank me."

She leaned on him for support while he made calls. Leila heard bits of his conversation with Amara. She tried to decipher the woman's mood based on her tone but she couldn't. Kelvin tapped her.

"We have to get you the right outfit, Leila."

A dress would be lovely for this but she didn't have any formal wear. She wasn't fully thinking when she asked to go with him. The idea of her husband attending a function with another woman repulsed her.

"People would want to know who you are to me, Leila. Are you okay with that?" When she didn't reply immediately, Kelvin said, "You don't have to do this. We will be fine on our own. Amara and I do this all the time."

"No," she replied a little too fast. Right now, she wasn't acting the adult but she didn't care. She poked his chest. "I'll go. Go with your wife, not your assistant. I'll be fine."

"Then we need to get you a dress."

She continued tracing patterns on his shirt. "Okay."

"Hey, look at me." She did and he captured her lips for a heartbeat. It all happened so fast. "Smile for me, Leila." Her lips tugged in a smile. "I love your smiles."

"Thanks."

"Have you eaten?"

Covering her face, she laughed. "I had lunch."

Dinner must have arrived at their house or would be on its way. She wasn't sure going home to eat before returning to dress hunt would be a good idea. Their food arrangement had weirded her out at first but Kelvin was confident they were fine.

"So you haven't eaten?" he teased.

"I guess not. What about you?"

Kelvin smiled his naughty smile and the alarm bells in her head tripped off. He must have been thinking the same thing she was thinking. About those moments in the office when she wrapped her mouth on his cock and sucked him off. They had forgotten to lock the door.

Thankfully, no one interrupted their tryst. He said she had improved at giving blowjobs and it made her smile just from thinking about it. She couldn't wait for him to say she was better. For when she could take him to the back of her throat without fighting her gag reflexes.

"I'm hungry for something else," he whispered. Her nipples turned rock solid. She shivered against him when his breath caressed her neck. "For a different kind of food." Leila knew exactly the type of food he wanted. The thing poking her hip was a hint. "But I'll wait. I'll eat what I want after our gala. Is that okay?"

Her mouth had gone dry. "You want to eat me?"

Eyes crinkling, he replied, "Yes. That thing I do with my tongue..." Her vagina muscles spasmed. Whatever that thing was called, he did it so well she was willing to be the best wife for him if only to be rewarded with his tongue. "That thing you like so much, it's called eating out."

"Oh." Kelvin replied with a wink. She knew that but as always, her mind had blanked. He always left her speechless, took over her mind. "You're hard," she said while moving on his erection. "Are you always hard?"

"When I'm around you, it's so easy to get hard." The pad of his thumb brushed the mark on her jaw. "It's because I like you very much, Leila. Do you like me back?"

"Yes," she replied quietly. Her eyes lifted to his face. "I like you too, Kev. Very much."
