Lycan King's Long-Lost Luna

Chapter 35

Ch. 35 / 119 Feb 24, 2026

Araceli POV

The next morning, when I came downstairs to make breakfast, the couch was empty.

There was a note on the table, "Araceli, I'm going back to France. See you next time."

I frowned slightly.

Reynaldo had given me that large sum of money yesterday. It should have been known to his father.

"Mommy, where did Uncle Reynaldo go?"

Krish asked softly as he walked down the stairs holding Valeria.

I looked back and felt my heart soften a lot when I saw my two children. I smiled and said, "It's okay. He's back in France."

I still went to Veronica's place last night to pick up my kids. The house was not far from Sliver Pack's villa, and the kids were still up.

Reynaldo's comments last night bothered me a bit, even though he was drunk and snoozing afterwards. I'd feel better if the kids were around.

Krish rubbed his eyes. "Mommy, are you okay?"

"I'm fine. Let's have breakfast. I'll take you guys to Brizela Daycare later."

Krish asked as he drank orange juice, "Mommy, did Uncle Reynaldo say anything to you before he left?"

I shook my head and said, "If you miss him, I'll give him a call in a few days, okay?"

Krish nodded.

After breakfast, I drove them to Brizela Daycare.

There were not many people on the road.

I wore a camisole with a shirt over it.

The air was a little icy. I couldn't help but wrap my shirt tighter.

Krish saw it and asked me, "Mommy, there is a blanket here."

I held the steering wheel, smiled and said, "Honey, thanks. I'm fine. Are you cold?"

Krish patted his chest, his eyes a little smug. "I'm not cold, and neither is Valeria. Mommy, did you forget about the weather forecast software I invented? It's installed on my alarm clock. I wake up every morning knowing the exact weather for the day, so you don't have to worry about me. And I'll take care of Valeria, too."

He looked adorable as he clenched his fist slightly and nodded his head.

I felt a warm current passing through my heart.

It didn't take long for us to arrive.

I parked in front of Brizela Daycare and was about to get out when I suddenly saw a white Ferrari sports car parked on the other side of the road.

I also had a white sports car, so I couldn't help but look at it a little more.

Wait a minute...

Wasn't that Melany?

I stared at her for a few seconds with narrowed eyes. A bad feeling came to my mind.

What was she doing at Brizela Daycare?

I pushed the door open and got out of the car.

Melany heard the door close and looked over. After seeing me, she sneered and lowered the window.

"Melany, it's been a long time."

I smiled politely, but my eyes were like sharp blades.

Melany removed her sunglasses and rested her forearm on the window. "Araceli, what a coincidence. I just happened to be passing by. Wait, are those your kids?"

I turned my head and saw Krish, holding Valeria's hand, standing on the curb, looking at me worriedly.

Melany sneered, "Araceli, you gave birth to two dead babies out of wedlock before you left New York. Which man did you have these two bastards with now? What a slut! I can smell the stench on you in the car!"

I didn't retort to her, instead I laughed, "Is that why you're here today? To humiliate me?"

Melany rolled her eyes and said, "Araceli, I told you, I was just passing through here. But you know what would happen if your two kids were exposed, right?"

She smiled, put on her sunglasses, and her eyes seemed to glow with an evil light.

I gritted my teeth and clenched my fists.

At that moment, Brizela Daycare's bell rang.

I snapped back to my senses and realized I should send the kids in first.

Melany sneered and said, "Your daughter looks exactly like you did when you were a kid, like a bitch. Holy sugar, is she blind?"

She burst out laughing and said, "It's karma! Araceli, your daughter is blind!"

She said, about closing the car window.

I said indifferently, "I have always remembered why my two children died five years ago. One day, I will make you feel the pain I felt then."

I grabbed Melany by the neck and pulled her outward as hard as I could. I stared at her face and said, word for word, "If you hurt my children, I will torture you to death!"

The hatred in my eyes burned like an endless fire.

Melany kept pushing the button to close the window, yelling at me to get out.

The window kept hitting my wrist over and over. I felt a pang of pain, but I thought it was bearable because nothing broke my heart more than the thought of my two dead children.

Melany stared at me and pressed the button hard, as if she wanted to cut off my wrist.

I pushed her back hard and let go.

Melany coughed violently. Her head rested on the steering wheel, and she angrily honked the horn twice with her hand.

The car made several sharp noises.

Krish's worried yell came. "Mommy! Are you okay?"

I quelled the anger in my heart and walked over. "I'm fine. Let's go inside."

Behind me came the loud bang of the engine.

Melany drove off.

Krish asked me uneasily, "Mommy, what's happening?"

He looked anxious.

I smiled gently, "Nothing. I just met a friend and talked to her."

Krish frowned and said, "Mommy, that person just now is your sister, Melany Chancey, isn't it?"

I froze for a couple of seconds and fell silent.

Krish had been smart since he was three years old. I couldn't hide anything from him.

I shook my head and told him, "Krish, it's okay. I'm fine. You don't have to worry. Okay, go inside. I'll pick you guys up this afternoon."

Krish sensibly did not speak again.

Valeria didn't react and kept staring at the door of Brizela Daycare.

A man was holding his daughter. The little girl cried and wouldn't let him go, shouting, "Daddy, don't go!"

The man soothed the little girl, holding her in his arms and gently patting her on the back.

I knew that although Valeria could not see, she must have heard.

Valeria mumbled the word "daddy" and followed Krish into Brizela Daycare.

Valeria could actually see some images dimly, not completely blind, and she could hear very well.

I sighed inwardly and looked at Krish and Valeria's backs with some sadness.

I unconsciously hoped Valeria would awaken the wolf inside her soon. Maybe it would help a little in treating her autism.
