My Sexy Boss

Chapter 26: New Job

Ch. 26 / 138 Sep 17, 2024

"MISS BANAAG, make sure that your dad will take his medicine on time. All fatty foods are prohibited. Fruits, fish, and veggies are better."

I nodded to the attending doctor of my father.

"Dad, eat healthy food and have a good lifestyle. Don't ever come back here," the doctor said to him with a silly smile on her face.

"Thank you, Doc!" Dad smiled at her before the doctor straightened up and faced me again.

"Ah, Doc, thank you so much." I wanted to hug her, but I restrained myself out of embarrassment.

"I am just doing my job." She tapped me on the shoulder before smiling.

"I'll fix your release paper and you can come out anytime. I already talked to Mr. Rexon Del'Torre about this matter." I noticed that she smiled broadly as she mentioned Rexon's name. "And he was asking me on a date!" Her lips turn up wide while her cheeks turned red.

"Ah. That's good to hear." I smiled with a bit of disappointment.

I wish I could say to her that I don't fall into his trap, but I know I'm not in the place to say that. Who else can refuse a Rexon Del'Torre? Who doesn't want to go on a date with him?

She was about to speak when her cellphone in her pocket rang.

"Oh, speaking!" Her eyes widened as she showed me Rexon's name on her cellphone.

"Excuse me, I need to answer his call," she said goodbye to us.

I just sighed as I watched her leave the room.

I decided to turn my attention to Dad. "Dad, let's go!"

"How can we pay for the hospital? I'm sure we'll pay a lot more," he said in confusion.

I could see his concern, so I knelt down and held his two hands.

"Dad, don't worry about the bill. The important thing is that you're okay." I looked up at him with a smile in my eyes.

"You can't take away my worry, Cherry," he answered.

"Dad, you're not allowed to be stressed. What did the doctor tell you? You should just be happy and not think of problems, right?" I started to stand up and immediately positioned myself behind him to push his wheelchair.

"How's your job? Did you leave Calixto's bar?" he continued to investigate.

I was devastated to remember that night. Since Rexon pulled me away from the bar, I haven't yet reported to Calixto.

"I've already found a new job. The salary he offered is much higher," I sparingly answered.

"Sorry for giving you so much burden." Dad shook down his head.

"Dad, that's all right. I'd rather you to just stay home and rest. I can cover our daily expenses."

"What kind of job you work for?"

My lips parted at his question. I don't know if I will answer truthfully, or I'll just lie. But in the end, I choose to tell him the truth.

"Personal assistant? To whom?" he asked, looking up at me.

I didn't answer it at first because we were already out of the hospital, and the medical team was supporting him to take him to the ambulance.

"I will be a personal assistant to a famous band singer." I smiled at him.

"That job is hard. You will deal with people you barely know," Dad commented.

I smiled at him and caressed his arm and hand. "Dad, don't worry, I can do any job." I show off my big smile so that he won't ask any more questions and worry about my job.

I woke up to a series of sounds on my cellphone. I rolled over my bed before pulling my cellphone to the side table.

With my eyes closed, I answered the call. "H-hello?"

"Where are you?!" I frowned at the voice that spoke.

"I'm still in my bed," I hesitated to answer.

"Fuck! What did I tell you? I texted you last night, remember?!"

I got up suddenly and visited my inboxes to cover my lips.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I just read your messages. I slept early last night," I explained nervously.

"Damn! I told you to come here at six in the morning! What time is it?!" He was screaming on the other line that making my eyebrows upwards.

I glanced at the alarm clock next to me before answering.

"It's only 5:45 in the morning, Rexon," I said calmly.

"I know!" He seemed to be running out of patience with me.

I frowned and rolled over to my bed.

Silence lingered between us. I only heard his deep exhaled over the phone.

"Okay. I'll text you the details. Make sure you arrive before seven," he said calmly.

Before I could answer, he cut off the call. I could do nothing but get up to take a bath.

"Are you going to work today?" Dad asked as he was holding a newspaper in front of the table.

"Yes, Dad. I'm on a hurry! Don't forget your med!" I said as leave the house.
