Eero’s perspective
Alpha Claudius wrapped his arm around my body to make sure that I was well protected before our body plunged to the depth of the sea.
I was staring into his eyes. The worried look in his eyes was the last thing that I can remember, before everything went dark, and I felt the winter – like coldness of the sea.
The sun was about to set when I slowly regained my consciousness. A harsh wave pushed me further to the shore. I slowly got up, feeling a little dizzy. I sat on the sand and clutched my head, hoping that things will stop spinning each time I looked at it.
Before I could fully recover, Alpha Claudius and Caspian crossed on my mind. I immediately looked around, but I couldn't find them anywhere near me.
Fear began to hammer my chest. I was worried that something bad might have happened to them. I looked on top of the cliff and found no one. Alpha Ameo and his men probably left us alone after they thought that we passed away from the fall.
“Alpha Claudius! Beta Caspian!” I called them, limping because I got a wound on my feet that hurt each time I took a step.
“Alpha! Where are you?” I shouted once again as I walked around the shore.
“What if something bad happened to him? What if the Alpha died as he did his best to protect me?” I asked myself as I continued to walk around the shore.
“I shouldn't have asked him to come back with me to Moon River. If I didn't, none of this would have happened,” I told myself.
I was already sobbing hard, feeling hopeless, but my wolf encouraged me to keep looking for them in case Alpha Claudius and his Beta were waiting for my rescue.
I sniffed and dried the tears off my cheeks.
Not far from where I was standing, behind a rock formation, I saw two familiar figure dancing along the calmer waves of the sea. My heart skipped a beat as I rejoiced.
“T-That's them!” I muttered to myself and wasted no time. I forced myself to sprint the distance between my current spot to where they were.
“Alpha!” I called. He was lying flat on his chest. When I flipped him around, I saw a big wound on the head. His head most likely hit a rock formation after we plunge into the sea.
“Caspian! Caspian wake up! The Alpha hit his head. He was badly hurt!” I said. I gasped and once again tears started to pool in my eyes after I saw the arrow buried deep within his back.
The beta was shot. Those arrows were dipped in wolf's bane, and I was sure that I only had a limited time to save him from the poison, or he would surely die.
I was left with no choice but to drag the two of them to a spot where the waves of the sea can no longer reach.
Standing in the middle of them, I was torn whether I should heal the Alpha first or Caspian. In the end, I chose Caspian, because it felt like he was in a more critical condition than the Alpha.
I placed my finger to check their pulse and found that Caspian's pulse was way weaker than the Alpha’s.
I pulled the arrow off his body and threw it away from us.
“Shit! How do I heal someone again?” I asked myself as I was staring at my palm. I shook my head, and then put my palm on top of where Caspian was shot by the arrow.
I gasped as I felt pain sipping through my body as I healed the beta with my ability. It felt like he was absorbing my strength and energy. By the time that Caspian had regained his consciousness, I was too weak to stand up and had to crawl towards Alpha Claudius.
“Eero, what are you going to do?” Caspian asked me seconds after he realized that I had already healed him.
“I need to heal the Alpha too,” I said to him.
“But y-you already look too pale and weak. You look as if you'd pass out any moment.”
I glared at him and gritted my teeth.
“Would you rather him die?” I looked away from him and continued crawling towards the Alpha. “If I need to sacrifice my life just so I can save him, then so be it.”
I wanted to put the Alpha's head on my lap, but was too weak to even do that. Caspian came over and helped me with that.
With a shaking hand, I put my palm on the wound on Claudius head and closed my eyes. The pain that I was feeling now was way worse than what I felt while I was trying to heal Caspian.
I opened my eyes, only to see that the wound was still on the Alpha's head and his eyes remained closed. His pulse was weak, too.
Caspian's eyes and mine met.
“He is not waking up. I-It's not working? W-Why isn't working?” I said, sobbing as I continued to tap the Alpha's cheeks to wake him up.
“Alpha, please. Wake up! You can't die yet. You can't leave me!"
I was almost out of breath and my eyelids were starting to feel heavy too.
I was about to try and heal him again when the Alpha slowly opened his eyes.
“Eero?” He murmured and reached for my cheeks, but before I could feel his skin with mine, my eyes closed as I lost my consciousness.
