Okay, I'll admit it. I went back and reread the letter so that I could mess with her. It was too much fun to watch her squirm and turn red like a cute little tomato. It's not like she was all innocent. The things she wrote in that letter made me blush too.
I might've gone too far by touching her like that at the movie theater, but she didn't look like she hated it either.
"Sorry, guys, the refill line was long," Damien whispered and took his seat.
I decided to give her a break for the rest of the movie and not bother her.
After the movie, we went out to eat. Ironically enough, I got along really well with Damien. We had a lot in common.
"I need to get home soon. I'm sleepy," Bella yawned and said.
"Yeah, me too, I guess. It was nice meeting you, Aaron. Let's do this again sometime," Damien said.
"You too, bud, " I said and patted his shoulder.
"Bye, Aaron," Bella said.
I grabbed her and pulled her into a hug before she could protest. "Let's pick up where we left off tomorrow," I whispered into her hair, so Damien doesn't hear me.
"Not a chance," she whispered back.
I could hear her heart thumping against her chest, which matched my own. I let go of her after giving her a final squeeze.
Sunday evening, I went over to her house and knocked on the door. Her aunt opened the door and looked at me with surprise.
"Aaron! What are you doing here?" she said.
"Hi, Mrs. Talley. Is Bella home?" I asked.
"She sure is. Come inside," she said and got out of my way.
"I must say I am surprised to see you here. Bella said you don't like her," she smirked.
"She is wrong. I like her a lot, and I want to get to know her more," I said reassuringly.
"That's good to know. She could use someone. The poor girl had been through a lot," her aunt shook her head.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"It's a long story. I am sure she will tell you everything eventually. I got to go to work, but she is in her room upstairs," she said and said goodbye to me.
I went upstairs and knocked on her door.
"Did you need something, Aunt Mindy?" Bella said from the other side.
"She doesn't need anything, but I could go for some booty," I said and chuckled.
The door burst open, and Bella stared at me wide-eyed. "What are you doing here?" she squealed.
"I told you I was coming here to finish what we started," I picked up a lock of her hair and kissed it.
"And I told you, not a chance in hell!" she exclaimed and tried to shut the door in my face, but I held it. I grabbed her waist and picked her up.
"Aaron, put me down!" she cried.
"Nope, let's go get laid," I announced.
"No way!" she said and giggled.
I put her down. "Fine, I will spare you for now. I was bored, so I figured I'd come to see my freckles." I smirked.
"Pfft...you are acting like we are friends or something," she said and wrinkled her nose. How cute.
"You are right. We are not friends. We are lovers," I said and, wrapped my arms around her and hugged her close.
"I hate you. You are even more annoying than I was when I was stalking you," she pouted.
"Oh, so you admit you were stalking me," I chucked.
"It was a mistake. A mistake I'll never repeat with anyone ever again. And I am trying to stay far away from you too," she said quietly.
"How's that working out for you?" I leaned over and kissed her ear. I felt her shiver when my lips touched her earlobe. Someone is sensitive, I thought to myself.
"It's not working because you won't go away," she whispered.
"You are not trying too hard to push me away either," I cupped her cheeks and gazed into her deep blue eyes. "Don't worry. I will make you fall for me again." I said.
Her cheeks turned red. She looked away. "I have to go to the bathroom, so please let go of me," she said.
I let go. She left in a hurry. Probably happy to get away from me for now.
I looked around the room. It was a typical girl's room. She still had pictures and things from high school on her desk and walls. A small framed picture on top of the dresser caught my attention. I picked it up to take a good look at it.
It was a picture of her. She appeared to be a lot younger. Maybe fourteen or fifteen. A boy stood next to her, holding her hand.
I was taken aback a little. Is that me?
No, of course not. I never took a picture with Bella. But the boy in the picture looked eerily similar to me. He had tousled brown hair, and green eyes, just like me. Aside from a few differences, we could be twins! Who is he?
"Pu...put that down!" I turned around and saw Bella standing there with an angry expression on her face. Tears streamed down her cheeks.
"What is it? What's wrong?" I asked.
She stormed over to me and snatched the picture out of my hand. "Nothing is wrong. I want you to leave," her voice was shaking.
"I will do no such thing until you tell me why you are upset," I demanded.
"I am not upset," she said quietly.
Bullshit...
