Triumph Of My Cheating Husband

Chapter 54

Ch. 54 / 196 Sep 18, 2024

Ryan collected the file from Sheila and shrugged his shoulders lightly before opening the file and slowly, he went through it. His facial expression was blank, giving no thoughts to what he was thinking as he digs more into the file's content.

Slowly, his facial expression on his face slowly changed, his blank expression gathering more emotion -a bright one at that; he definitely did not expect what he was reading as he tries hard to conceal his emotion.

"Is this what your company refers to as a fair price?" He asked her, his brows raised slowly, causing creased lines on his forehead. Sheila was confused and Miriam, on the other hand, was curious as to what her boss read in the file.

"Yeah. Why?" Sheila requested, with an obfuscated look. "Is there something wrong with it, eh? That's what the company is ready to pay for the shareholding fee." "Oh, I see..."Ryan muttered, trailing off, and said nothing else after that. He was still in a daze as at why the company would offer such a huge amount of money, even without hearing his called fee for.

'It must really be a colossal company and the owner must be stunningly rich and influential too...' Ryan thought to himself, but thinking about it again, he wondered why he hasn't heard of such a company much influential than his -is there something he is missing?

He checked the file content and was surprised -there was no registered company name attached to it, just the proposal offer and an anonymous signature with no stamp on it nor a relatable name to it.

"I see no name here, lady. Not your company's, your boss' or anyone's name attached to it, why is that?" Ryan questioned, he did not bother to conceal the lines that were starting to form on his forehead.

"Oh, that!" Sheila mouthed, citing simply. "I told you before, it was supposed to be kept as anonymous, yeah -and since you are curiosity is at it peak, you might find out about the company; who knows? But definitely not my boss. Okay?'"

The reply did not settle well with Ryan. Why would the company's name be kept anonymous as well? He totally goes with the anonymous owner of the company but not the company itself, he tried to figure out if something was off or fishy but...

Even the offer for the pay fee was tempting and did not seem like the usual any company would offer -not even for a fifty percent profit share.

"Is there something I'm supposed to know, but I'm being left in the dark?" Ryan muffled out, his gaze strictly on Sheila. "Do I still refer to this as business? How am I supposed to be guaranteed that this isn't a fake at all?"

Sheila was tempted to twitch her lips at his choice of words, but held back, she couldn't let anything go wrong -and her boss might not like it if anything should go wrong and did not go as planned. She sighed, Ryan seemed to be one hell of a guy; his pretty face and innocent look was all just a facade -he might be a tough guy in disguise and smart too, maybe?

"Ah -yeah, that's my point exactly." Sheila said almost immediately, her reply only made her earn a creased brow from Ryan and as well as Miriam too. "I think you get it now."

"Get what?" He uttered in a sharp tone. "What are you trying to insinuate? I'll advise you don't waste my time, and this better not be a fake -else you won't like the result of your action; not even a bit of it."

Sheila swallowed hard. He is really a tough one and an angry bird too, she wondered if he's like that to his staff; Ciara can never be this hard on anyone -except, of course, you mess with her!

Sheila cleared her throat lightly. "A huge company as yours suddenly is on the lookout for shareholders or investors. Cool, right?" She uttered but rhetorically and the duo got the message. "No one would ever believe this -and I must say, I don't believe this eith..."

Ryan was too impatient to let her finish, she had said enough already. "So, what's your point exactly?" He blurted out, his gaze not melting down at all -not even a bit. "You don't believe it and you are here, does that even make sense to you, at all?"

"No, that's not it, Mr. Lerman..." Sheila uttered slowly, trying to sound as calm as she ever would, just to ease Ryan. She will not want him to get angry, it might only ruin things for her, and she did not want that. "It's not what you think it to be, you are taking it to the other direction."

Ryan breathed in slowly. She might be -no, she's right! He was starting to take things too far and letting his anger lead him, which was very far from necessary, he wasn't supposed to be angry; at least not yet, he should have allowed her to explain herself first before jumping into action.

Ryan had come to realize he's getting unnecessarily anger the past few days and his emotion seemed to be taking over him and too hard to tame. Most times like this, he felt he needed a break from everything, work, lifestyle, and his fame too -they are only driving him crazy.

Most times, he wished his mother had denied him the right to the company and was still heading it until the moment; all of these troubles and escapades would have been avoided. His family had gone to bankruptcy, not only himself, all because of his reckless decision -blinded by mirage and infatuation he had mistook as love.

He sighed, he would rather not think that way, it'll only worsen his mood at the moment when he badly needed to calm down. For the third time, he breathed in and heaved out a sigh -hoping it would help.

"I'm sorry I overreacted." He muffled out slowly, calming himself down. "I think I went a bit overboard with it, my bad. So, where were we?"

"What I mean was, I needed to be sure this was a real deal before bringing in any information on my boss's company, you understand what I'm trying to insinuate?" Sheila uttered in questioning, feeling whatever happened was partially her fault as well.

Ryan lightened up his expression. "I understand this perfectly, Lady." He told her with a nod. "Since I get what I'm looking forward to from you, I'll say the deal is still on. The shareholding is still vacant for now."

"Fine, that's a huge relief." She told him with a knowing nod. Ryan had wanted to say something like she knew what he wanted to say, and she quickly put the words back in his mouth. "Don't push it, we aren't in a haste. You should go through the file thoroughly before a response, you can take your time if you feel it needed."

"Yeah, sure..."He uttered in, hiding the delightfulness in his voice. Sheila stood up from her seat, preparing to leave.

"We'll be expecting your response and I hope it's a positive reply, Mr. Lerman.." She gave him a small smile and with that, she leftwithout waiting on Ryan's reply...
