Cinderella of Our Time

Chapter 47

Ch. 47 / 59 Aug 22, 2024

(Day 94/122 of the experiment)

Today we are finally heading home. Lilia visited Richard yesterday, fed him, and played with him, so we will spend the evening in Nashville with a calm heart. Tristan has work meetings, and I've decided to go work in the city.

I chose a nice café that serves lavender éclairs. As it turns out, they look very beautiful, but taste not so great. However, the coffee is delicious, and I found a table in a quiet corner so that no one would distract me from my work.

My assistant praised the idea of psychological consultations and online yoga classes. She said that a comprehensive approach is trendy right now.

On Instagram, my engagement ring caused a real sensation, or rather – the proposal from Tristan. Everyone congratulated us, and subscribers wrote that I would be the most beautiful bride. Even Sofi wrote a short "Congratulations! When’s the wedding?" And I realized that Tristan and I haven't discussed the wedding at all. I don't know how he will feel about the fact that I don't want a lavish celebration but dream of a small gathering for close friends in warm lands. So instead of a long dress with a 5-meter train, I would like to wear a light linen dress, and he would be in shorts. I need to discuss this on the way home.

The main takeaway (trendy word of the day – “insight”) for today is that to work productively, it’s necessary to periodically change the environment. Here I was in the café, easily and quickly writing a plan for three whole classes! Why? Because I had a different scenery in front of my eyes.

Additionally, today I did something I would not have dared to do before. I met with subscribers who live in Nashville. I simply posted on my Instagram that I was currently in Nashville, specified which café, and invited anyone who wanted to join me for coffee. Literally 15 minutes later, three lovely girls joined me. We chatted, discussed the course, how I impacted their lives, and what they have started to work on. Then we took a photo together, and the girls gifted me a beautiful phone case – now I'll only use it!

The journey home flew by very quickly – we listened to music, Tristan talked about his work plans, and I shared about my meeting with the girls and the unusual workday at the café. And in our conversations, I completely forgot to bring up the wedding with Tristan.

(Day 95/122 of the experiment)

After an intense mini-vacation and a productive day yesterday, today I decided to dedicate time to my hobbies. So according to the plan: gym, stretching, manicure, vocal training, and bachata – the instructor wrote that today there would be a solo dance because the guys won’t come.

I also really wanted to make a gift for Tristan. So after my activities, I stopped by a bookstore and spent a long time choosing what to buy for him. It's strange, but I can't predict what my dream man's reading preferences might be.

While we were selecting one book from hundreds, I pondered – why do people love each other? We may not know another person's tastes, their preferences, political views, or the family they grew up in, but we are drawn together as if we had met in a past life. And when you are in love, you want to learn everything about that person – to read them slowly, like a book. To open new chapters and discover new stories from their life. And then together create this story – the story of a happy and long life together. And each day feels like a ride in an amusement park – it takes your breath away as you rise up, and then with insane speed, you plunge down – it can be both a game of hormones and just any life events that inspire and excite at the same time.

Then inevitably, the pace of the rides becomes slower and more moderate. You get used to the up and down and everything becomes familiar and mundane. Someone switches to another ride and betrays their beloved, or completely leaves the family. While someone diversifies the ride and invents new reasons for joy and happiness, makes surprises, and keeps the feelings for their partner alive. Each person makes their own choice. But I know one thing – love always wins.

After long deliberation, I settled on a book by Kidruk. I hope Tristan hasn’t read it yet and will like it. Before Tristan arrived, I even had time to prepare lasagna – lit aromatic candles, and offered to have dinner in such an intimate atmosphere.

p.s. I also couldn’t avoid working on the course. I sent the already prepared material to my assistant and then quickly discussed with her what we need to correct and what to add to the material.
