Entangled with the Billionaire

Chapter 25

Ch. 25 / 101 Jan 12, 2026

Putting the roses back on the center table, Mia turned her attention to the suitcase. She got comfortable on her rug and opened the luggage. Mia Edwards came face to face with a complete outfit set. A very gorgeous dress, matching pair of shoes, purse, and jewelry. She took each item and admired them one by one. Both the dress and the shoe were her size. Mia's hands were shaking when she held onto the jewelry. They were so precious and she could only imagine how much they cost.

Mia was wondering what the outfit was for when she saw a folded paper inside the luggage. She reached for it, opened it, and went through its content.

"I know we didn't start off on the right track, I know you're still mad at me because I want us to get married. Despite everything that's happening, I want us to get along and make the best out of our relationship. The world's most beautiful woman (Mia Edwards) with the incredibly handsome (Colton Royal), going on a date this Friday night. What do you think?"

"Why do you have to be so sweet?" Mia mumbled, looking down at the paper. "How can I still stay mad after all of these?"

Sighing, She put back all the items in the suitcase.

Mia went to the room. She changed into a free dress, then made her way back to the living room. She reached for the car key, then proceeded downstairs.

Lo and behold, there it stood, her brand new car. 2016 Chevrolet Malibu, in a silver ice metallic color. Mia's eyes began to get watery.

After admiring the car from afar for a while, She went closer, opened it, entered, admired the inside, and sat in it for a few minutes, meditating on all that had happened this morning. Mia wished she had someone to talk to but unfortunately, there was no one to talk to except Colton. Hailey wasn't aware of the situation so it made no sense calling her at this point.

After what felt like forever, Mia went back to her apartment. She reached for her phone and dialed Colton who picked up immediately. It was obvious he was waiting for her call.

"Thank you!" She whispered before he could say a word.

"You like them?" Colton said with a relieved smile.

"Thanks for the breakfast. I'll dig in as soon as I end this call. The roses are beautiful. Thank you."

There was a few seconds of silence between the duo before Mia spoke again. "You're really making things hard for me, Colt."

"How?" He asked.

"You're making it hard for me to stay mad at you. Why did you have to shower me with love and so many gifts?"

"Because you deserve to be loved and treated like a Queen. That being said, you deserve all the gifts I sent and even more."

"I don't want you to see all of it as a bribe. I respect you so much to have that motive in me. If there wasn't any chemistry between us, I wouldn't have asked you to marry me."

"We've both had shitty lives and we deserve to be with someone who will make us feel loved. Things didn't exactly start out right for both of us but I'm trying my best to make sure everything works out. You won't regret being with me, Mia. I'm ready to give this relationship my all and I'm hoping you will do the same."

"Do you like the car? If you don't, I can a...." He was saying but she cut him off.

"It's beautiful. Are you sure you want me to have it?" She whispered.

"Of course. There's no need to use the taxi anymore now that you've got your own ride. I wanted to get you something close to the one I'm using but I didn't want to scare you away. That's why I settled for this one."

Mia nodded in understanding. "It's perfect but I cannot accept it."

"Why not?"

"I don't know. All my life, I've had to work really hard for everything I want. I accept gifts from people but the car is just way too expensive for me to accept with open arms. I don't want you to think I'm taking advantage of you."

Colton sighed. "All that I own is yours, Mia. And as my wife-to-be, I can buy you anything I want. Of course, no one is taking advantage of anyone. You didn't ask me for a car before I had it delivered to you, remember?"

"I understand you're used to working hard for everything you want but now that you have me, you need to get used to me taking care of and spoiling you!"

"I'll accept the car on one condition." She said,

"What condition?" He asked.

"No more buying of gifts for me"

"That's going to be difficult." He said, massaging his temple.

"There's nothing difficult about not buying anything for me. To me, the car is a huge gift and because of it, I already feel indebted to you. The more things you give me, the more I feel like I owe you something. I don't like that feeling.

"Okay. No more gifts then." Colton said.

"You promise?" She said, not trusting his last statement. He didn't say it like he meant it.

"Sure, anything for you, Mia." He said, just so she could drop the conversation. She had no idea how many more gifts he had the intention of showering her with.

"The outfit....How do you know my sizes? Besides, how did you manage to arrange all of these? We were literally not on good terms yesterday."

"I don't know much about Women's fashion but my younger sister was there to guide me. Before a couple gets married, they get to go on dates and all of that. Ours may seem to be a rush but I want us to enjoy it to the fullest. You don't have to answer me now. You have till Friday to decide If you're in or not. But I really hope you say Yes!"

"And as for the car and the breakfast, getting them across to you was a very easy task. I was just nervous about you accepting them. You gave my staff a hard time, didn't you?"

"You were not going to fire them if I had refused the items. Will you?"

"Of course not. I just said what I said so they will persuade you."

Mia nodded.

"Thank you." She said after a while.

Colton could not help with the smile that crept to his lips.

"Thank you for the car. I love it. Though it's going to be a lot of work explaining to people how I got it."

"You don't need to explain yourself to anyone Mia." He intervened.

"I know. I'm talking about my loved ones. The people you threatened to make them lose their jobs if I don't get married to you." Mia was referring to her best friend, Hailey, and her Sister, Tessie.

Colton exhaled. "You can just tell them it was a gift from me."

"It's not as simple as you think. They know literally everything about my life."

"You don't have to do this alone, Mia. I can always step forward and talk to them. I'm ready to take responsibility. If they want to get mad at anyone, it should be me and not you. I'm willing to do anything for us to get married."

Mia sighed.

After a while, She spoke. "I've never met anyone as confidently persuasive as you. You know what to do to get what you want."

"Anyways, are you busy today?"

"No, I'm not." He replied immediately. He lied. He spent all night arranging his surprise for Mia when he was meant to be working. He had thought he was going to do the work today but he had no idea what Mia had in mind.

"Can you come over? My Dad wants to talk to you."

"You told your Dad about me?" Colt said in disbelief with a very big smile on his face.

Mia rolled her eyes.
