Kayden kept pacing back and forth trying very hard to endure the torture of the time suddenly becoming slow. Lily kept the test kit on the toilet sink and was waiting to see two red bands and that would confirm her guesses.
She turned her back to it and was looking at the time. She refused to be tempted to glance at it. She closed her eyes and was counting one to sixty seconds to make one minute. She had counted to four minutes just remaining a minute before she'll turn to look at it.
But the door suddenly opened and Kayden walked in. "It's not yet five minutes," Lily yelled. Why did Kayden enter to interrupt her counting for heaven's sake.
"By my own timing, it's already five minutes" Kayden declared and was looking over trying to locate where the kits were placed. Quickly, he saw them and was trying to pass by Lily to go check it by himself. Lily then reluctantly turned and went to see it, Kayden trailing her behind.
They looked at it, and the five test kits were showing two red lines. "Wow" Lily exclaimed but Kayden was yelling "I am going to be a father soon!!!" He lifted Lily off the floor and led her out of the bathroom. He swirled her many times until Lily started yelling that it's bad for the baby.
He placed her down princessly on the bed and started kissing her all over. Lily had brought him nothing but happiness upon fortune. He stopped at her belly and was just kissing the still flat belly.
Wow his baby was in that belly and wanted him or her to feel the presence of its father. Lily couldn't help but get surprised at Kayden's behavior. He was alternating between kissing her lips, her neck and her belly.
She's happy that she would give her mother good news. "I want to tell my mother at once. Can you take me there now?" Lily inquired. Kayden raised his head and stared at her with a stern look on his face.
"If you had been able to go by yourself, you would have gone ahead and let mother know about the baby first before me, who is the baby's father?" He was serious.
Lily didn't know how to answer. Kayden looked offended. She said she was sorry and Kayden let it go. He told her that he would summon the Royal physician to come check on her and the baby.
Within a few minutes, the Royal physician appeared. Lily didn't know how Kayden did it but wondered if the physician was standing by and was waiting to be summoned.
The Royal physician bowed before the lord and lordess and asked why his highness summoned her. She's a middle aged woman like Ms Gracey. Though Lily can't guess what her real age is anyways.
"The lord is pregnant with the Royal seed. Examine her and tell me if she's fine and how's the baby doing" Kayden stated.
Royal physician smiled and said "Congratulations to the lord and lordess of our clan" before she started to examine Lily. First she checked her pulse and then proceeded to ask her a few questions. She checked her eyelids and jotted some things down.
Kayden Diego stood by the sidelines with his arms folded across his chest and watched. He was asking questions at every interval and Lily who was being examined just listened to the answers the Royal physician was giving.
After a long time, the Royal physician said "Her majesty the lordess is fine and the little master is fine as well. But her majesty should feed well and take a lot of dietary food. Rest is also very important at this level of formation. You both can still be together as man and wife" she concluded and prescribed some medicinal herbs that would be good for Lily.
Kayden told her to prepare the herbs and bring them to the lordess. She can then name her price . Royal physician agreed and bowed before vanishing out of sight.
As soon as she left, Lily suggested that they visit a human physician rather than the werewolf physician. But Kayden's countenance became stone cold. "This is not some damn human baby. This is a werewolf child. The heir and the future lord. I can't leave him at the mercy of the human doctors Ok?" He finalized.
"But I am a.."Lily wanted to say she was still human somehow but Kayden raised his hand and she trailed off. "No. This is my child and everything will be as I want it. Moreover, you will not be going to work anymore until the child is born. I will instruct the cook to always prepare nutritious meals for you every day" Kayden declared.
Lily asked again when they'll go and see the royal mother and Kayden said the next day if she's obedient. Otherwise, he can't guarantee her when she'll be able to see her mother. Lily doesn't know whether to cry or laugh. Kayden was now lording over her more than ever before.
Kayden slept that night with his hand placed on Lily's flat belly. The latter felt it was annoying, how can he place his hand on her belly to sleep? And whenever she tries removing the hand gently, Kayden makes it more firm.
Next morning, Lily was excited she was going to the werewolf clan. She took her bath and dressed up properly before going downstairs for breakfast. Alpha Kayden picked dishes for her and told her to finish it up otherwise, he was not taking her to the werewolf clan.
Lily took a few spoons and couldn't take more. She was feeling nausea and hurriedly stood up to throw up in the sink. Only then did Kayden stop bothering her to eat more.
He went to her and patted her back gently before telling her to take a seat. "Are you Ok? Is the baby bothering you too much?" He was worried. Soon he led her into the room and summoned the Royal physician again.
When the Royal physician arrived, she had prepared some medicines for Lily to take. She equally gave the prescription of administration to Kayden and the dosage.
Alpha Kayden complained that Lily was feeling nausea and she threw up a while ago. The Royal physician smiled and said it was normal for the early stages of pregnancy and would possibly stop as soon as she's past this phase.
Pleased with the Royal physician, Alpha Kayden rewarded her with a piece of gold. When she left, Kayden asked if she's ready to leave to the Wolf clan or would she rather stay and rest?. Lily said she'll go. After seeing the Royal mother, she will have enough rest at the Alpha's quarters.
"When we arrive, it's not your place to tell the Royal parents. I will tell them myself. Is that clear?" Kayden clarified. Lily nodded and gently got into Alpha Kayden's open arms and this time, he literally carried her like a princess and teleported into their clan.
"In future, I want you to teach me how to teleport myself" Lily demanded. If she knows how, she would long have disappeared into the Wolf clan to see the Royal mother. Kayden didn't say ok neither did he object. It's something she can do without being taught but he's not willing to have her do it without him being around her.
When they arrived, the Royal parents were happy and mother quickly held Lily into an embrace. She had the chef prepare a sumptuous meal for them. Kayden left them but telepathically told Lily not to say a word about the pregnancy.
When Alpha Kayden returned, the table was set for lunch. He sat down and Lily sat next to him. He picked dishes for her and kept looking at her at intervals. But to his utmost surprise, Lily ate her meal well without any slight show of nausea.
Kayden was thinking, why is Lily not showing any signs of nausea? Is it that the medicine the Royal physician prescribed was already working? When he saw that Lily had finished the meals he picked for her, he asked if she wanted more but the latter said she was fine.
Without arguing, Kayden ate his meal quietly. His parents are long used to his aloof attitude sometimes hence no one said a word all through the meal. Royal mother kept stealing glances at Lily. Her daughter in-law should be showing signs already.
She was going to ask her some questions when they left the dining table. If there's nothing yet, she would invite the Royal physician to examine her and possibly prescribe some medicine that would boost her fertility.
When they finished eating, Kayden said he had something important to say. He and the lordess are now expecting a baby. Royal mother doesn't know if she's to dance or to start singing .
Her long awaited desire would soon become a reality. "Oh Lily dear, thank you," the royal mother said. She was smiling and stretched her hand over the table, holding Lily's hands. Her eyes were almost teary.
This woman Lily was indeed a treasure to her and the entire clan. Only she is able to break Kay Diego's rigidity and make him fall in love. She saved the entire clan from ruin and now, she would birth her a grandchild.
"Lily we are happy for this great news and you have no idea how much your mother and I have been expecting a day like this. When this child is finally born, then you will know what your father is capable of doing" Royal father declared.
Kayden listened and was waiting if his parents would even say a word to him. But they completely ignored him and concentrated on their daughter in-law.
"I think I deserve a word as well since without my help, the news wouldn't have come to be" Alpha Kayden stated. He chuckled and put on a poker face. Lily tucked at him under the table and pinched his side.
He pretended not to be in pain. "Oh yes Kay, you are right. Well-done the King of all Alpha's" Royal mother complimented. "You've made me really proud, my Son," Royal father also complimented before they all started laughing.
"Happy now?"Lily teased, placing her hand on his shoulder. "Yes, very happy,"Kayden declared. Then there came a contention, the royal mother suggested that Lily stay with her so that she would be properly taken care of but Kayden refused saying he would take care of her himself.
"How can you take care of a pregnant woman Kay? Are you a woman?" the royal mother asked. How can a man say he can take care of a pregnant woman? He's not a woman nor had he been pregnant before? What experience does he have to look after her?
"I can take care of my wife and the baby we are expecting" Kayden declared. He can't imagine staying without Lily for months. Even if he comes around to check on her, that is still not ok by him.
When the royal father saw that his wife and Son were having a heated argument on who would look after his daughter in-law, he decided to ask Lily for her opinion. "Lily my dear, would you want to stay behind and have your mother look after you or would you prefer to go to the human world with kay?"
"I love my husband and can't stay without him,"Lily replied with a bowed head. She had long decided in her heart that in the face of challenge, whatever happens and she's to make a decision, the first person she must consider is Kayden.
