Freya
"No need to fear me, for this beast is yours to be tamed," Jurius said as he embraced me in his arms, and I no longer felt worried now that I was comforted by words.
We both lay down on the bed. Jurius held me from behind. His arms were around my waist, and we both admired each other's reflections in the room's mirror before us.
I played with the length of his finger around my waist, sliding my fingers up and down against it.
"It's like a dream holding you in my arms, I heard him say. I cannot believe it is true." His voice was soft and unhurried. A side of his face squished against my cheek as he now held me tight in his arms.
I then spun around, staring into his eyes and no longer wishing to admire their reflection within the large rectangular mirror, and I gently touched his face.
"This is not a dream," I said as I lowered my head for a kiss.
He smiled as my lips parted from his. It was the most beautiful smile I'd seen.
His hand then reached out to my cheek, and he kept stroking it gently.
"You have no idea how long I've yearned to be this close to you," he confided.
I touched his hand against my cheek, intensely touched by his words, and allowed it to stop. I was so happy he had gotten what he wanted, and that was me. We both were.
"I could lay here and stare into your eyes for eternity," said Julius.
I blushed.
No one has ever cherished me as Jurius now does, not my mother or my father. I felt so loved by him.
At that moment, I wanted him more than ever; I wanted him to finalize it by marking me as his own.
"When are you going to mark me?" I asked.
Sadness swept over me as Julius sat up. I slowly sat up as well, and I looked at his now sad face that was once filled with happiness.
"It's okay; I will wait as long as you want me to," I said as I hugged him from his side.
Our heads leaned against each other, and we stayed in that position until he later informed me that he had to leave.
I watched him as he did.
"Jurius," I said, stopping him as he was about to leap from the window.
I ran over to him and gave him a huge kiss.
"What was that for?" He looked at me with a sexy smile as my lips left his.
"Whatever happens, just know that I love you," I said.
Jurius froze at what I had said, and soon he also confessed his love to me.
"I love you too," he retorted.
I smiled, and as he ran off into the forest, I watched him.
Jurius
I'd stayed in the forest after I'd departed from Freya. I didn't feel prepared to see my father.
I know he and my uncle were at home anxiously waiting on me to return and to tell them that I had killed my human soulmate, which they believed to be a curse.
I didn't believe she wasn't after spending the day with her; I knew she could never be a hoax but a blessing to me.
The place had begun to get dark, and I knew I couldn't stay out here any longer. If I don't reach home at a certain time, my dad, the alpha, will come searching for me.
As much as it was difficult to go back home and look him in the eye and tell him that I cannot kill her, for I love her, and that I will disappoint him, I had to.
I stood up from a large rock, recollecting the promise I had made to Freya that I would never try to hurt her again. I meant it. I was done trying to get rid of her for a second chance; I didn't want anyone but her.
I walked home.
When I'd arrive, it was dark, and everyone was inside except for Dad. I was surprised that Uncle Lennox wasn't with him. I guess he must have gotten tired of waiting and returned to his pack.
I stood in front of my house while I looked at my dad, not wishing to get any closer. His face was upset.
Your uncle and I have been waiting for a long time. Where were you?" he spoke telepathically to me.
I hesitated. I didn't know what to say. In my head, it was so easy to tell him the truth: I cannot kill my human soulmate, but now standing before him, it was so difficult to do so.
"Follow me," he then said, walking angrily into the house.
I took my time as I did, and soon we were in the gym alone.
"Did you kill her?" he asked softly, not wanting anyone to hear.
Now was the chance to tell him, but I didn't, and instead of answering, I walked away, putting distance between us.
"Jurius!" Dad shouted telepathically.
My eyes flinched, and I growled in pain; he was too loud inside my head.
"Did you or did you not kill her?" Dad was anxious to know.
I sat down and lowered my head.
"I cannot kill her father; I love her." I took my time and confessed.
The room was silent at my response, and I kept my head lowered, afraid to see his disappointed face.
"You what?" my father again shouted telepathically, causing me to screech in pain.
"I thought you'd be better than those weak shifters who were unable to kill their human mate!" my dad kept shouting telepathically.
"I had faith in you, but you had to let me down. I will have to do so on my own to get rid of her!"
"Father no!" I stood up immediately, and he pushed me back down as I did.
"Stay out of this, son. For I will never allow her to ruin our pack," he said, infuriated.
I remained seated there while I looked at him, seeing how he was filled with so much anger.
"You will not leave this house until I tell you to from now on," he warned him.
For the first time, I was so terrified of my father, seeing the flare of unquenchable rage within his eyes, that I dreaded that if I got too close, he would hurt me, caring less that I was his son.
I watched him as he stormed from the gym, worried, knowing he was going after Freya to kill her.
