His Hybrid Mate

Chapter 38

Ch. 38 / 264 Apr 07, 2026

Only Lance and Annette were left in the restaurant. Lance said, "How's your graduation from Werewolf University?"

"Mr. Fisher, don't beat around the bush. We don't need to talk about private issues," Annette said coldly. "Just cut to the chase."

"What exactly happened between you and Connor?" Lance suddenly asked.

"It is my business." Annette was reluctant to say more.

"He's targeting Black Thorn Pack. Did you have anything to do with it?" Lance asked.

Annette thought for a moment and said, "Maybe."

"Annette, stop your childish tricks. Do you think your mother would be disappointed?" Lance said helplessly.

"I told you. Don't mention my mother." Annette looked at Lance and said, "She had been a fool for her entire life."

Lance frowned and looked away. "Annette, things are not as simple as you thought. I have my reasons for the things I did."

"I said that we shouldn't talk about private issues." Annette stood up and said, "If you have nothing else to say, I'll leave now."

Lance said, "Leave Connor. I found a werewolf that suited you. Leave Akron with him. You and Connor won't have a future together."

Annette clenched her fists and said, "That's my business. Alpha Lance, you don't need to care about it."

She picked up her bag and pulled out the door.

Seeing Annette walk out, Leslie stepped forward with indignation. She pushed Austin aside and shouted at Annette, "Annette, you bitch! Listen to me. If you dare to..."

"Leslie!" Austin interrupted Leslie with a gloomy face. He said, "Stop it, OK?"

"Austin, you took that bitch's side. Do you hate me that much?" Leslie glared at Austin and reprimanded him.

Annette smiled bitterly. She said to Austin, "I'm leaving now."

She walked past him directly. Austin reached out to stop her, but his wrist was grabbed by Leslie. "You are not allowed to see her again."

Austin shook her hand and said, "Then, watch me."

"Austin!" Leslie pulled him back and said genuinely, "I know that you already know the truth. I have always been supportive of you, but Annette is an exception. She is not worthy of you. Do you understand?"

Austin did not say a word. He pulled his hand and walked away in a hurry.

When he came out, he didn't see Annette.

He rubbed his hair in frustration.

In the taxi, Annette calmed down a little. She took out her phone and called Connor.

She wanted to know if Connor was targeting the Fisher Group.

However, Connor did not pick up the phone.

Annette felt upset and went straight back to Werewolf University to look for Roxanne. They went to the nearby club to relax.

Connor was working overtime in the meeting room. After he returned to his office, he saw the phone flashing.

There was a missed call from Annette.

He did not expect Annette to call him. He called her back, yet no one answered the phone.

He dialed her number again patiently. This time, the person who answered the phone was not Annette, but a strange woman.

"Hello, please call her tomorrow morning. She can't answer your phone now."

"Where are you guys?" Connor asked coldly.

  "We're at Zero Club."

After hanging up the phone, Connor drove alone. Ten minutes later, he came to Zero Club.

As soon as he walked in, he saw Annette standing on a chair. She pointed to the chandelier on the ceiling and said, "I want this!"

"Miss, be careful. Come down quickly. If you break our lights, you have to pay for it," the waiter said nervously.

Roxanne looked up at Annette and said, "Annette, come down. I will buy you a nicer one, okay?"

"No, I want this," Annette insisted.

"I'll take the chandelier. Give her what she wants." Connor's voice sounded cold.

Roxanne and the waiter turned around in shock.

Connor took out a card and handed it to the waiter. "I'll buy this chandelier."

Roxanne was dumbfounded. She thought, 'Wasn't he the Alpha of the Blood Moon Pack? Why was he here?'

Annette also saw Connor. She chuckled and pointed at his face. "Connor."

Connor stepped forward. He grabbed her shoulders with both hands and pulled her into his arms.

Annette tilted her head to look at him. She pointed at the chandelier and said, "I want that, Connor."

Connor stepped on the chair and pulled off a crystal ball.

He handed it to her and said, "For you."

Annette took the crystal ball and held it in her arms. She said to a group of people she did not know, "This is mine."

  Connor said, "Everyone, leave now."

After the waiters left, Connor looked at Roxanne, who had yet to recover from her shock.

  "You are her roommate?"

  Roxanne nodded quickly.

He pulled Annette into his arms and said, "I will take Annette home. You can go back now."

He picked Annette up. With the crystal ball in hand, Annette calmed down.

Roxanne was still in a trance. Seeing Connor walk out, she finally came back to her senses. She couldn't let him take Annette away.

  She hurriedly chased after Connor.

Connor left quickly and placed Annette in the back seat.

Roxanne stepped forward and shouted, "Wait a minute! I don't know you. I can't let you take my friend!"

"I don't know you, either, and you can't take her away," Connor said.

"She is my roommate," Roxanne said.

Connor replied immediately, "Then, I guess I'm more intimate with her."
