From Gamma to Luna

Chapter 79

Ch. 79 / 98 Jan 10, 2026

Erika’s POV

Derek had been very weird these days.

Now that Baron and Richard were all dead, I thought that it was time to take a rest. I had many plans, I wanted to go to the Fly Rock Pack and visit the room where I had lived before. I hadn’t visited the pack again ever since I was taken away by Derek.

Now I thought about it, Charles was really good to me. He forbid me to go out when I was little because he wanted to protect me from Baron. He allowed me to take training after I was saved because he wanted me to be a strong warrior so that I could protect myself. He didn’t help me when Derek tried to take me away. He knew that Derek was one of the strongest alphas that had ever existed. He never explained, but nothing he did was ever to my detriment.

I also wanted to visit Angel in the West Ford pack. She had been away from the pack for a long time and I didn’t know how she was getting on. Would she hate me for not visiting her for so long and not helping her while she was trapped in a pack she didn't know the slightest?

I also wanted to visit Alex and Bentley. I had promised Bentley I would show him all my weapons. Alex said, "Not bad for a member of our family. Lucy and I have been fighting since we were very young. Of course, I couldn't beat her."

There are so many things I want to do, but Derek always said that he was busy. When I asked him what he was doing, he always said that he was busy with pack business. I didn’t believe him. There was not so much to do now that Baron and Richard were both dead. I told him I could share his burden and he refused. He said he wanted me to relax, but everything seemed so boring without him by my side.

One night, I was having dinner alone.

"Erika, I won't come back until late at night. Sleep and don't wait for me. Sorry, kid." Derek’s message popped out.

I threw the phone on the floor out of anger.

Suddenly, I had no appetite. I put down the forks and sighed.

I needed to figure out what he was doing these days.

After dinner, I walked upstairs and made preparations. I opened the wardrobe and got dressed. My fighting suit and my glove were all in the corner of the wardrobe. I hadn't used them for a long time.

My fingers brushed against them and stopped at a white dress. As old couples, we were past the period of fighting.

I waited until ten o'clock and went to the kitchen.

Derek asked me once what I was doing. I replied that I was about to sleep. It was supposed to be a surprise.

I was going to send him some snacks while not letting him know it in advance. He often skipped dinner when he was busy. I needed to do it on my own secretly. Otherwise, the servants would let him know that I was going to meet him.

It was the first time I went into a kitchen and tried to cook by myself. I stood in the middle and thought about what I should do for a second.

Maybe I needed some tools. I summoned a dagger and walked to the fridge.

Suddenly, it occurred to me that this was the dagger I used to kill.

No, no, no. I couldn’t use it on food. It must taste blood. I shook my head and put it aside.

I walked around the spacious kitchen and finally found a set of knives of different shapes. These must be the knives used for cooking. But I didn’t know what they were exactly used for. They must be made in different shapes for a purpose. It was the same as weapons. Different weapons were used in different ways.

Forget about the knives, I opened the refrigerator and saw what was in it. There was so much food in it. Wow.

Of course, I didn't know how to cook them.

I thought for a while and finally decided what to do. I made a salad and cut some slices of bacon. It was quite easy. All I needed to do was cut them into slices and did some seasoning. I put them in a meal box and took a bottle of milk when I left the kitchen.

"Well done, Erika! It’s your first attempt to cook and you’ve done such a good job!" I thought to myself

I went to Derek’s office with the meal box.

I had a bad feeling on my way to his office. The corridor was dark and not many rooms were lit. Few people were working overtime.

Finally, I arrived at his office. I took a deep breath and knocked on the door.

No one replied.

I twisted the handle and tried to open the door.

It was locked.

My face changed. It was an empty room.

Derek was not in his office room when he told me that he was busy with pack affairs. Then what was he doing and where was he?

One thing was for sure, he lied to me. These days, he was lying to me. The weight of the meal box on my hand reminded me what a fool I was.
