Angel’s POV
I gritted my teeth and clenched my fists in anger, but I soon calmed down. Then I looked up at the young face with pity while still sitting under the tree.
She didn’t know what a big trouble she was in.
I raised my hand in front of her and asked, “Did you throw it at me?” My voice didn’t betray any emotions.
“No! The bottle just slipped out of my hands and flew to you. I already apologized. You’re the future Luna and you won’t take it to heart, right?” The red-haired girl asked with a fake smile.
The next second, I raised the bottle in front of her eyes and squashed it with one hand while still maintaining a smile.
Squashing a metal bottle was not something to brag about, but I did it effortlessly and within 0.1 second.
The warriors around were all stunned. I bet no one saw clearly what just happened. The red-haired girl also took on a look of fear and remorse, but it was too late to regret.
I stood up slowly, looked around, and grasped a dagger from a boy’s hand.
“Don’t worry. I won’t hurt you,” I comforted him as he was trembling with fear.
I walked over to the red-haired girl with the dagger in my hand.
“Hey, will you forgive me if I cut off your beautiful hair and say sorry?” I asked.
Her eyes flashed with fear. “No, no, no. You won’t do it. My father is the Gamma of the pack!” She was still bluffing, but her trembling voice gave her away.
And she was too noisy.
I pushed her to the ground, turned her over, straddled her, and grasped her hair.
“Ouch! No! Get away from me, bitch!” She kept shouting with a high pitch while flailing her arms, which was of course in vain because she was unbelievably weak. I twisted her arms and she gave up struggling immediately. Seriously, how dare she mess with me?
I pulled her hair hard, and she shrilled with pain. Her face was distorted by pain.
“Angel, do you have to do this to her? Ada sees her hair as more important than her life. You can make her apologize again, but don’t do this to her!” A girl craned her neck and blamed me.
I shot her a glare, and she cowered immediately.
But the red-haired girl burst out into tears at her words.
A good speech it was, but I was a warrior with minimal sympathy.
I raised the dagger and slashed it at her hair.
However, before I could cut off her hair, I felt pressure on my wrist and it couldn’t move anymore.
“Alpha Nicholas!” The girl named Ada said with a broken voice.
What?
Why was he here?
“He must come for you, Angel! He comes to see his mate on your first day of training!” My wolf said excitedly. She just woke up. It took more time for her to recover.
“Shut up and I’m not his mate!” I refuted my wolf.
The big boss who didn’t bother to show me his face would find time to see me despite his busy schedule. No, I wasn’t that naïve and unrealistic girl anymore.
“Nicholas, help me! She’s going to cut off my hair!” Ada sobbed.
Well, a good piece of acting.
Nicholas wouldn’t believe in her, would he?
Before I could turn around, he tightened his grip on my wrist and it hurt.
Bang! The dagger fell to the ground.
The next second, he pulled me up from Nelda’s body. It all happened so quickly that I lost balance and fell into his arms.
The smell of mint graced my nose. Goddess, I hated to admit it, but I loved his smell. Could my wolf guess it right? Could he be my mate?
However, to my surprise, he pushed me out of his arms immediately.
Astonished, I lost balance and fell to the ground. I still couldn’t believe what just happened.
Of course, he didn’t even want me to see his face. How could he possibly allow me to approach him?
Fuck the mate!
Nicholas didn’t look at me ever since he showed up. Instead, he helped Ada up and asked her if she was OK.
She shook her head and shot me a glance.
Nicholas took her side although I was the Luna, and she was showing off like an idiot.
It was not that I cared.
But I did care!
The warriors around were all laughing at me.
Nicholas embarrassed me in front of so many people and turned me into a laughingstock.
I bit my lips and tried to stay calm, but it was so humiliating. I didn’t know why he bore such strong hatred toward me. Yes, I was a warrior, but I was also a girl. Why did Nicholas have to make it so hard for me? He was such a cruel devil! I had never been so cruel when I rejected boys.
“Can somebody tell me what just happened?” he asked, sounding neutral.
But there was no need to ask. He had already assumed that it was my fault.
I turned around and left the training ground before he could say anything more and before my tears welled out.
