Alpha's Little Miracle

Chapter 25

Ch. 25 / 127 Aug 27, 2025

ADRIA’S POV

That night, while I was alone and Lucien had gone back to his house, I felt on top of the world. I had had such a wonderful time with him, and it felt as if I got more closer to him, which was like every woman’s dream especially if they loved the man so much.

But then, I was missing my mother, and I hoped that she was okay. Because of me, she had done a lot of things and gone through a lot, and I didn’t want her to get into trouble just because she was trying so hard for me to live a good life, and to be hale and hearty.

I exhaled, and hoped she was fine, then I laid down to rest. Hopefully, I don’t have a nightmare tonight. I closed my eyes and before I knew it, I fell asleep.

The next day, I woke up feeling good, although weak. The warmth was gradually turning into something hot in my body, but it was a slow process, not like before when it would travel inside my body really fast, and render me useless.

I guess there’s an advantage when someone who loves you, is a werewolf, or if you’re close to them or sort. I sat up slowly, although, it was still a bit of struggle for me, but I just had to be fine at least.

All of a sudden, the door flung open, and there was my mother, looking like she had gone to the moon and the sun just to search for my antidote. She was so happy to see me awake, and hugged me.

‘Oh, my baby. I’m so happy you are awake.” She said, and sniffled.

Then she withdrew from me immediately, and brought out a little bottle. The bottle was kind of fancy, but dark in color. It was cute as well, and looked really important.

“Now, all you need is to take one good gulp of this, my love.” She said as she opened the bottle cover.

A hazy smoke seeped out of the bottle, and it got me wondering what kind of drug seemed like that. It seemed to me like it was a potion, but I dared not talk about it in front of my mother. She hated it whenever I said to her that she did things like she was a witch.

Although, it was unknown to me why she didn’t like hearing things about fantasy and all, but she was my mother and I had to respect her decision.

“But it’s obvious you went through a lot to get this. How is it that it’s as little as one good gulp. What if I get this sick again? Would you have to travel over there to get this?” I exclaimed, feeling sad over the pain and stress she had to go through, just to ensure that I was okay.

“I can do anything for you, my child. As long as it is going to make you okay, then I really do not mind about the stress.” She replied, then urged me to drink.

I took the bottle from her hand, and stared at her awkwardly as I put the bottle close to my mouth, but then, it had an awkward bad smell.

“but it smells bad. Are you sure it’s the right one you took?” I asked, out of curiosity.

“Just take it. It shows how potent it is. Come on, hurry up.” She urged me again.

I blocked my nostrils from sniffing in the bad smell, and then gulped down the little content in it.

“Good. You’ll start to feel better, very soon.” She assured me, with a smile on her face.

I believed her because all the drugs that she had given me in the past until now, had really fast effects that made me wonder if magic wasn’t involved. I sat up and exhaled, then hugged her tight.

‘Thank you, mom. You are the best.” I appreciated her with a smile on my face.

“My pleasure, my daughter.”

Then she sat beside me, and held my hand.

“So, while I was gone, is there anything you experienced?” My mother asked, with an expression that showed how inquisitive she was at the moment.

“Well, yes. The nightmares. They were terrible ones that felt so real, but I don’t know how to explain it. Its somewhat hard to believe.”

“You know I believe whatever you tell me. I am your confidant, and will do anything to make you feel better. Even as much as they aren’t real, I’ll still like to hear you out, okay?”

“Alright, mom. The thing is, I met myself in a different world, called other reality. Everything felt so real, especially the tasks I was given. I thought I was going to die, because it felt just so real. Although, I was told that if I didn’t pass those tasks, I wasn’t going to wake.” I explained to my mother, looking at her expression.

I wondered if she was going to burst into laughter like she always did whenever I told her about my nightmares, and she did that most of the time just to make me feel better and like they were nothing.

“So, what do you think about it?” I asked, since she hadn’t said a word since.

“Uhm… Uhm… Well, as I said, they are just nightmares, and nothing much about it. But did you perhaps see something scary, recently?” My mother asked like she was investigating me.

“Something scary? You mean before or after the nightmare.”

“I mean, before.”

Thinking back on what I could have seen that was scary to me, Lucien’s half shift came to my mind, but that wasn’t something I could tell her, I couldn’t possibly give out his secret to my mother who may not understand, and she could react by ensuring I never go to his house again.

“Nothing. The only thing that got me scared were the nightmares, and I hope I wouldn’t have any nightmare, soonest. SO, I’m fine, mother. But why do you ask?”

I was waiting for my mother’s response, but she wasn’t looking herself. It seemed as if something was going through her mind, but she couldn’t say it, just like the way I couldn’t say mine. Or was there something she heard while she was away?

“Mother.”

“Oh! I’m sorry, I zoned out.” She smiled, then she held my hand.

I wondered what was going on? My mother was acting a bit dramatic which also caused me to suspect that something really was going on with me, but she needed to find out, and possibly because it could be dangerous.

“Adria, are you sure you didn’t see anything scary?”
