Alpha's Little Miracle

Chapter 28

Ch. 28 / 127 Aug 27, 2025

ADRIA'S POV.

"Gosh. This is bad. Really bad." I panicked, turning my head around frantically. A Professor and a student dating? What made it worse was that I was his student. Let's say I wasn't his student, then it would be a lot better, but I was his student so that would spell trouble for him.

Then she started to turn slowly as she admired her surroundings, and I pushed Lucien away.

"Go, go, go!" I whispered furiously, and he went into the midst of the little crowd. Although he could still be seen. He was just too handsome! Too handsome not to be spotted.

"Adria!" I heard the professor call, and I shook so much that my purse bag fell from my hand.

"Oh!" I exclaimed, and bent immediately to pick up my purse which had fallen. Then we walked towards each other.

"Nice seeing you here." She commented with a warm smile.

"Yeah, I came to watch a movie. It's a really killer one." I told her breathily as I clutched my purse strap tightly, then she looked around, squinting her eyes.

"What about your boyfriend? You came with a guy, didn't you?" She asked, and I went into a coughing spree. "Oh my! Adria, are you okay? God, here! Have some water." She said, patting my back as she offered me a bottle of water from her bag.

I took it from her, drank and embarrassingly coughed into the water.

"Thanks." I said to her nervously as I kept the bottle with me. There was no way I could give it back to her.

"Are you okay?" She asked again, and I nodded. I really wanted to hit my eyeballs which were involuntary straying to where Lucien stood.

"Yeah, I'm totally fine."

"Don't tell me your boyfriend left you before the movie ended." She exclaimed, and left her mouth open.

"No. He actually… he actually went out to get something for us… I was waiting. " I stuttered, still clutching the strap of my bag hard.

"Ohh. I'm sure you had a lot of fun. The movie was a killer. I nearly spilled my guts out laughing in there." She said, and started to laugh while a large stone dropped in my belly. I was almost forced to cough once more, but I managed to put on a fake smile.

"You… you watched the movie with us?" I asked.

"Yeah, I saw you and your boyfriend sitting around the top seats."

Was she trying to tell me she had seen Lucien?

"Is he from our school? He looked a little familiar, but before I could get a good glimpse of his face, the theater was dark once more as the scene changed." She explained, and relief washed through me like I was drinking chilled water on a particularly sunny day.

"No, he's not. He's from another school." I lied.

"Oh… that explains things better." She said, and we began to talk about the movie. I didn't mean to, but I forgot all about Lucien as I and Miss Lester practically ran the whole movie over, talking about the funny scenes and laughing again.

"Hey babe." A guy looking to be around Miss Lester's age said, putting his arm around her.

"Uh. Adria, meet Carl. He's my boyfriend, we came together." She said introducing him to me.

"Hi." I said in a little voice, feeling a little awkward.

"Carl, meet Adria. A student at the school I teach." She said to him, and he stuck out his large hand for me to shake.

I took it uncomfortably and gave an even more uncomfortable chuckle as we shook hands.

I didn't know why I felt uncomfortable but maybe it was something about meeting a professor's boyfriend. The whole thing just had a weird feel to it.

"You're here alone?" He asked.

"No, I'm with someone. He'll soon be here." I told him, and he nodded.

"Well, it was nice meeting you. Did you perhaps watch the movie too?"

"Yes, I did. It was lovely." I replied.

"Would you mind walking with us or would that make it hard for your boyfriend to find you?" Miss Lester asked, adjusting her bag properly on her shoulder.

"Oh, it's fine. I would feel bad following you guys around. I'll just call my boyfriend. I really wonder what's taking him so long. So, it was nice meeting you, Carl. Miss Lester, see you at school." I said, and waved, and they did too.

I turned away, and started to walk briskly, and after some seconds, I turned and saw them leaving, talking to and laughing with each other affectionately. It made me smile, because I had mine too.

Then, someone pulled my hand into a corridor I hadn't seen before.

"Aa.." I was about to scream, but saw it was Lucien.

"What took you so long?" He asked.

"I'm really sorry. We talked about the movie. I'm so sorry that you had to wait." I apologized, holding his hand, but he shrugged.

"I already waited. What's the use of apologizing, and also, since you were talking about the movie, I understand it was something that made you laugh over, and over again." He said, leading me out of the corridor.

"If I could see the movie again, I would. I've really never seen a movie that made me crack up as much as that." I told him, as I increased my pace to match his. We walked out of the cinema while looking around and hoping Miss Lester, and her lover, Carl weren't somewhere they could easily see us.

Lucien and I drove, talking once more about the movie which had been so nice that it just couldn't leave our heads.

We drove to our next date location which was a boat cruise, and after Lucien had sorted out the payments, and tickets, we had to wait a little for the yacht to start moving.

"Dinner on a cruise. That's going to be so romantic. I really can't wait. What would being on water feel like? I mean, staring at all those pretty sights while you eat is quite something. I would have loved to take photos of us, upload them on the internet, and blur out your face, but my friends would be curious, and would bug me to know who you are. So, I guess I can't do that." I lamented, and he ruffled my hair.

"Someday, when we come again, then you'll be able to upload our photos on the internet. Maybe your friends would have known by then." He consoled, and I smiled.

Finally, we were boarding the yacht, and I held onto Lucien excitedly. It felt so great to be on it with him.

There seemed to be excitement in the air as everyone boarded the yacht talking and chattering to each other. I couldn't help but notice everyone seemed to be couples, linking arms, sending lovely smiles, and intertwining fingers.

Finally, we sat on a chair close to the taffrail and the wind ruffled my hair gently.

"I can't believe it!" I squealed as I looked into the dark water. "Dream come true!" I added excitedly, and Lucien smiled.

Very soon, the whole place will get lighted up, and it would be the most beautiful thing you've ever seen." He assured me, and true to his words, as the boat began to move and night fell fast over the country, the lights came on one after the other.

"Oh my!" I squealed, looking all around me as beauty lit up the whole place. The wind ran through my air, and all the pretty lights were reflected in Lucien's eyes.

Minutes later, music started as a live band began to play music. My feet tapped to the beat, and in minutes, I started dancing right there on my chair.

"Isn't this too loud for you. You're a you-know-what. Isn't noise a big deal for you?" I asked, leaning over the table towards him.

"Because I can pick up sounds from afar doesn't necessarily mean sounds made close up will affect me." He replied coolly.

"It's actually really complicated. How can you pick the sound of one person when there are millions of people talking, laughing, shouting, and doing really loud things. How do you even know who's talking?" I asked in confusion and he opened his mouth, trying to explain but closed it once more.

"Actually. I can't explain it. I doubt you'll understand anyway. It's a wolf thing."

"Are you sure you won't be forced to turn me into a wolf someday? It always happens in the movies." I told him, and he threw back his head and laughed.

"Well, this is life Adria, and not a movie. No such thing is gonna happen. Why would I do that to you?"

"From the novels I read, I know it's an insult when a wolf marries a human."

"You're thinking of marrying me? Aren't you too young to think about that? He asked, resting his elbows on the table, and I blushed.

"You're starting to see me as weird right? Well, that's because I don't think I'll like anyone like I like you." I told him, even though it was really hard to say.

"Alright. Tell me you love me, and I'll believe it. Tell me." He said, and I blushed scarlet.

"Come on, don't make this weird." I said, looking all around at all the people that could possibly hear us, but no one was paying attention. A lot of dancing was going on, and couples kissing, hugging, and talking to each other lovingly were all round. No one was trying to eavesdrop or waiting to hear me force out the hard words.

"Come on. I'm waiting." Lucien reminded me, and I turned to him, then turned back to look around once more while moistening my dry lips.

"Alright, close your eyes." I told him with a smile while brushing away my hair which the wind had blown into my face.

"Okay. That's not hard." He said, and closed his eyes, and just then, I saw someone.

My smile faded, and my heart started a new beat.

I saw me.
