When I woke up, I was in Damien's arms. I frowned. He wasn't supposed to sleep with me. I moved a little and his eyes flew open. His eyes narrowed at me.
"Are you okay?" he asked.
"Yeah, wh--" I stopped talking. I remembered last night. My eyes searched his. I wanted to know what he was thinking. His eyes were blank.
"How are you feeling now?" he asked cautiously, as if I would burst out any moment.
"Um... Okay," I said. "I'm sorry."
He frowned, before that blank mask covered his face again. "Why are you sorry Hanna? You didn't do anything wrong."
I gulped. I had to tell him. "I..."
"It’s okay Hanna," he said. "If you want to tell me you can. You don't have to."
"I want to," I urged. "I just felt... Overwhelmed. Your punishment, the wedding."
"My punishment?" his eyes showed pure surprise.
"You keep teasing me!" I accused. "With those little kisses and those looks!"
His eyebrows furrowed. "Hanna, I haven't been doing anything. It’s your parents’ house. I wouldn't."
I stared at him in surprise. He continued. "If it matters so much and you think that I am teasing you, then I'll stop."
I bit my lip. "I'm going to go to my room and take a shower," he said, getting up.
I held on tighter to him. "Don't." I whispered.
"Hanna," his voice was strangled.
"Please," I pleaded. "Just hold me."
"Hanna, you’re making this hard for me," he said.
I looked into his eyes, which glowed with emotions. "I miss us sleeping together. I like cuddling with you."
He kissed my head. "Okay. Go back to sleep. You have to meet my family tomorrow."
I heard the smirk in his eyes. "Why?" I whined.
"Because you have to return the favor sweet cheeks," he said. I groaned, then a blush covered my cheeks as I realized what he had called me. I held him tighter, instantly falling asleep. This was home. In his arms. I missed him just holding me like this. More than I missed our sessions.
"Hanna," Damien's voice brought me out of the slumber.
"Hmm?" I mumbled.
"Wake up. My parents are on their way."
That got me up. I was up in a second. I stared at him in shock, and he doubled over, laughing. I glared at him, before stalking into the bathroom. I brushed my teeth, before I saw him come in. His face had a placating look, but his eyes were full of laughter. It took me a moment to catch my breath. He was always so serious. He was always so calm and composed. Seeing him like this, it made my day.
"I'm sorry Hanna," he said. I just shrugged, glaring at him again.
"Go away," I said. This wasn't because I was mad at him. This was because he was with me in an enclosed space and all I could think of was how hot he looked.
He grinned. "Why? I thought we could shower together. We have the house to ourselves."
I turned around and looked at him in disbelief. "Are you serious?!"
"Yes."
I don't think he was prepared for what happened next. I launched myself on him, wrapping my legs around his torso and kissed him.
He tastes so good. Even better than I remembered. He was surprised, but it didn't take him long to recover from the shock. I was up against the wall the next second. He kissed me harder, his tongue invading my mouth. My hands pulled pm his hair and his hand grazed the back of my neck.
His tongue massaged mine, we fought for dominance. I moaned into his mouth, making him growl. He pulled back and moved his lips to my neck. He kissed me all along and I was panting for air.
"Damien..." I moaned.
He pulled down my top, just enough for the top of my breasts to show. He started sucking on it, making me moan loudly.
"Oh..." I moaned. I didn't even think that just making out with him would be so good.
"Take off the top," I ordered. The next minute, I was on the floor. I glared at him.
"Sorry Hanna," he said. "That is something I won't do. I won't be able to control myself."
"I'm not objecting!" I almost yelled.
"You aren't. But I want it to be special."
"Are you---?"
"Hanna." Damien said. "No. Try and understand why I want it to be special. I didn't mate with you under normalcy. I want this to be special for you. For us."
I smiled softly at him. "If that's what you want."
He grinned at me, before placing a small kiss on my forehead. "I do."
Damien's family was... Overwhelming. I had already met his mother. But when I met his sister, Gina, all I could think of how his mother paled in comparison. She kept talking about babies and sex all the time. I almost ran into Damien's arms when he came into my room.
"Someone missed me," he teased me. I blushed and hid my face in the crook of his neck.
Gina and Sophie laughed. I blushed even more and held him tighter.
"I don't think we're needed here," Mom teased. I heard shuffling behind me and then they went out, closing the door behind them. I pulled back to see a smile on Damien's face.
"What?" I mumbled.
"Your adorable," he grinned.
I hit his chest and hid my face in his chest.
"Did you get the suit?" I asked. I was wearing the dress that he had selected. It was a pretty pale pink dress, which had a sweetheart neck line. It snugly fit and flared from the waist.
"Yes." he said. His best man was his brother, Gavin. I hadn't met Gavin as yet. According to Gina, he was quite the joker.
"Is your brother here?" I asked.
"Yes," he answered pulling me back. "And he wants to meet you."
"Should I be afraid?" I asked. He chuckled. He shook his head, before he placed a soft kiss on my lips. He took my hand and pulled me out of the room. We went down into the living room, a burst of laughter greeting us.
I immediately recognized Gavin. He looked a lot like Damien's mom. He looked at both of us and then our intertwined hands.
"That was fast!" he exclaimed. "Wow!!"
I frowned in confusion. When Damien growled it hit me. A blush covered my cheeks and I looked away.
"You should have at least waited until you got married." he said.
"Fuck off Gavin." Damien said. I took my hand out of Damien's and walked into the kitchen.
"Can I help you Mom?" I asked. She pointed towards the uncut vegetables. I quickly got to work. We couldn't hear what was going in the living room, because of our sound proof walls.
"Hanna honey," Mom started saying. "I know I shouldn't be asking this, but are you sure about this? I didn't know about this relationship."
"Yes Mom," I smiled. "He's...just so different. He makes me happy."
And it was true. He did make me happy. He made me happier than Rick ever did. We hadn't really done any couple things, but he was sweet to me. He understood me. He took the stand in our relationship. And that was just about enough for me.
"I'm glad, honey." Mom replied. "After Rick..."
My parents never liked Rick. For some reason I really couldn't fathom then. But now I realized. Rick never took the lead. He never realized how important the mating, a wedding was for me.
"Rick was --" I stopped when I saw Damien at the door. He was frowning. I knew why. He didn't like it when I talked about Rick.
"Can I talk to you for a minute Hanna?" he asked. It was obvious that it wasn't a question.
"What for?" Mom asked.
"We still have to pick up the rings, Mrs. Williams." Damien gave her a beseeching smile.
Mom grinned, "That's really good!"
Damien took my hand and almost pulled me out of the kitchen. We walked into the garage, which was extended and to his car, which was at the far end.
Before I could get into the car, though, he had me against the wall.
"You. Are. Mine." he said, punctuating each word. I stared at him in surprise.
"I--" I started to say, but he cut me off, by pressing his lips to mine. I was instantly drawn into the kiss. I kissed him tugging on his bottom lip. He growled and pulled back.
"Do you miss that sad excuse of an ex?" he snarled.
"What! No!" I gasped. Why would I?
He narrowed his eyes. "I hope not Hanna. I don't want to kill anyone."
I gulped, nodding. He pulled back and opened the passenger door of the car. I got in, still a bit stunned. He started driving and we reached a small shop. I frowned. It looked like a pawn shop.
"We're buying rings here?" I gasped. I didn't want fake rings. "Damien, I know this place not far away. They have the most amazing rings. They aren't that expensive either."
"Shut up Hanna," Damien said. I could hear the laughter in his voice. "We aren't going into the pawn shop. We are going to that small house there." He pointed to a matchbox size house.
We went in to be a greeted by an old man. He and Damien were on first name basis. He opened a cupboard and took out a beautiful ring. It was intricately designed. It had a big diamond in the middle and small topaz stones on the side. I instantly fell in love with it.
"Wow." I gasped, whispering the words.
"You like?" Damien asked.
I turned to him. "I love it."
He smiled at the man, whose name was Freddie. "We'll take it, Freddie. Thank you for making it on such short notice."
"Anything for you son," Freddie grinned. Damien took the ring and we left.
"You didn't pay," I noted as we left.
"I'll have the money wired to him," Damien responded. Then he turned to me with a serious look. "Just ignore Gavin okay?"
My eyebrows furrowed in confusion, but I nodded.
At dinner, I understood why Damien said that. Gavin was a funny guy, but sometimes he didn't realize that he should keep his mouth shut. Like right now he was taking about Damien's ex. His only serious relationship.
"They went out for four years," Gavin said, looking directly at me. "I cannot believe he didn't tell you."
"Gavin," Damien warned.
Gavin shrugged him off. "They broke up all of a sudden. Just one day, he comes home all drunk and shit and says that they are over!"
I nodded uncomfortably. Rita and Damien met in high school. They were best friends for three years before going out for four years. That was almost two years before he became Alpha. They way Gavin described their relationship, it was becoming obvious to me that they loved each other. They were on the verge of mating. I could feel the green devil slowly come to life within me.
"Man!" Gavin exclaimed. "They were great together! Always finishing each other’s sentences, never fighting, she was per---"
I got up, the chair scraping noisily against the floor. "Excuse me."
"Hanna," Damien sighed, but I ignored him and walked away. I almost ran to the front door. I ran through the block, hearing Damien behind me.
"Hanna!" he yelled.
I stopped, falling to the ground. A bloody mess of tears again.
